Tissot are pretty fair. Used to be owned by Swatch IIRC.

I owned a Tissot automatic, it was a pretty nice watch, but it disappeared during the divorce.

I can't stand Movados...really don't get the appeal. You may as well buy a gold nugget style ring.

LMAO

Yeah, not so much.

We do just fine for ourselves, but work hard to set aside money for things like this 3-4 times a year.

Looking for a new watch, and seem to have it narrowed down to three. Would love to spend $1000+ on a watch, but decided to keep it under $500.

I keep coming back to these - wondering if anyone has any experience with these specific watchmakers, or have any suggestions in my range.

Thanks!

I have an eco drive......8 years and running strong. Had to replace the crystal but that was my fault. Great watch

What are you looking for in a watch?

I probably shouldn't be giving my opinion in this thread (not that this has ever stopped me in the past), because I'm pretty tired of metal banded watches. I've owned too many of them. My favorite watch is made almost entirely out of wood. It was a little over $100, but every time I wear it, people ask me about it. It would be perfect for when I was single, because it's a great way to meet people. I'm not sure that it would be very practical as an every day watch, but it's a sweet accessory if I want to look put together while dressing down.

Oh shit. I just looked them up, and they make digitals now. Looks like I'm getting a new watch.

Got my dad a Tissot for Christmas last year. Very good watches.

Looking for an everyday watch. Stainless, won't take much abuse - other than being worn everyday. I'm a teacher, so it's not going to get banged up.

Something in the 40mm range - I like a bigger watch with some heft to it.

But most importantly, I want a quality timepiece that I can wear casual or dressed up that will last me 7-10 years or more when properly cared for.

Based solely on the multiple comments about Tag Heuer, this looks nice:

Do you have thick wrists? I have little bitch wrists, so I can't pull off the oversized faces...which sucks because I did like those for a while.

LMAO

Not sure what you consider a thick wrist, but a 40mm looks good for me.

I tried on a 51mm Nixon over the weekend, and it looked huge, but I could have pulled it off.
