I owned a Tissot automatic, it was a pretty nice watch, but it disappeared during the divorce.

Yeah, not so much. We do just fine for ourselves, but work hard to set aside money for things like this 3-4 times a year. |

What are you looking for in a watch?
I probably shouldn't be giving my opinion in this thread (not that this has ever stopped me in the past), because I'm pretty tired of metal banded watches. I've owned too many of them. My favorite watch is made almost entirely out of wood. It was a little over $100, but every time I wear it, people ask me about it. It would be perfect for when I was single, because it's a great way to meet people. I'm not sure that it would be very practical as an every day watch, but it's a sweet accessory if I want to look put together while dressing down. |
Oh shit. I just looked them up, and they make digitals now. Looks like I'm getting a new watch.

Got my dad a Tissot for Christmas last year. Very good watches.

Something in the 40mm range - I like a bigger watch with some heft to it. But most importantly, I want a quality timepiece that I can wear casual or dressed up that will last me 7-10 years or more when properly cared for. Based solely on the multiple comments about Tag Heuer, this looks nice: http://www.amazon.com/TAG-Heuer-CAH1...ords=tag+heuer |

Not sure what you consider a thick wrist, but a 40mm looks good for me. I tried on a 51mm Nixon over the weekend, and it looked huge, but I could have pulled it off. |
