That's probably more about Lombardi than McDaniels.

Quote:

"I think Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett are starters," Lombardi said in December 2011. "I've said this many times: If I would have taken the GM job of the 49ers, I would have gone after Brian Hoyer, because I think he has all the traits and characteristics. If I were the Cleveland Browns, I'd rather have Brian Hoyer behind center than Colt McCoy. I think he's got all the traits you need, in terms of leadership, toughness, the arm strength, the ability to move the team."

Jimmy Haslem is god aweful. I pity Browns fans, they know true pain.

Pats need to wait and see if Pioli can get a GM job somewhere. Then Belichick can start a bidding war and get six 1st round picks for Mallett.

Cleveland should have never been given another franchise. What a waste for the league.

Pretty stupid if they do this. That means the Pats will hose them on draft picks and in turn they will screw the rest of the NFL. If they don't win the big one this year they are sure to go all out and load up for Brady's last try next year. Look for the Pats to go after every big name this off season. Allen, Foster and all the rest.

I hate Brady and all the Pats fans everywhere. Spoiled bitches.

Considering Belicheat's draft record, he'd blow all the picks on scrub Rutgers players.

Who wouldn't want to become the next HC in the factory of sadness? They gave their last coach a whole 11 months to get the job done. How many coaches in the last decade?

It would have to be someone tainted or desperate to want that job.

I was thinking the same thing. You have to wonder if the NFL regrets putting a team back into Clevland.

Well they go back a long way in NFL history, but their run over the last 25 years has been pretty amazing.

Truly historic playoff losses under Marty... the plays in NFL history known as THE fumble and THE drive happened to Cleveland. That alone is enough. Then you add that they followed that with the Belichick era, who didn't do much in Cleveland then ended up becoming the most successful coach of his era and winning 3 Super Bowls. Then the team moved, and since then have become one of the model franchises, making the playoffs almost every year and winning two Super Bowls. Meanwhile the Browns most successful era was the Butch Davis era. It's amazing more Browns fans just don't go jump off a bridge.

Maybe they'll give Brady Quinn another shot.

He was in love with Cassel. And Tebow.

I am hearing that, like Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase, Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles may turn down Browns interview
Seriously, the Browns are a leaguewide joke at this point. Who is even going to take this job?

Don't you think this type of situation is why we ended up with Romeo? LMAO

Or why Manning wouldn't give us the time of day. Or why Kyle Orton was almost openly sending the message through ESPN that he might not report if Kansas City claimed him off waivers. Or that Orton left town to go hold a clipboard the first chance he got.

Pioli did indeed **** the Chiefs over, but this is on a whole other level. The Browns 2.0 have made the playoffs a whopping one time since their inception, their owner is embroiled in a federal probe, the GM is an incompetent buffoon, and they just fired the coach after one year. Complete no-names like Adam Gase are turning down their interview requests. McDumbass might be the only one desperate enough to take the job.
