The guy had the best season for a QB, ever.

Chances are he'll decline.

Only because if the Manning-gate scandal

Maybe it's just because the Chiefs haven't won a playoff game in 20 years, but I'd consider a Super Bowl loss to be a wildly successful season. Manning probably wouldn't be happy about it, but acting like he'll be distraught is silly.

All you'd really have to do is check your bank account

Make no mistake about it, the Broncos are going to win.

The upside is that Manning will then retire.

I don't think either happens.

I don't think the Broncos win.

If they do win I don't see Manning retiring...

Of course, we all know this is rigged, so matchups don't matter. We only need to break the game down by talking about what possible storylines the NFL might want to advance.

Will Manning retire and vacate the championship? Will there be a heel turn for Russell Wilson? At a critical moment, will Tom Brady run out onto the field and hit the referee with a folding chair?

He owns the record books, he silences his critics, and he goes out a winner.

He's already told a few people as much...

I read somewhere that Manning has a neck evaluation coming in March. Built into his contract.

Who? The only thing I've seen is him saying is that he'll have his neck evaluated and go from there.

I think these guys quit when they're ready (or forced) to stop playing and 'going out a winner' doesn't much enter into it. Elways was going to retire anyway. Ray Lewis was going to retire anyway.

See, that would actually be something worth watching.

It's the Super Bowl so anything can happen, but I tend to favor the Broncos in this game. Sherman will take D Thomas out of the game but then they still have Julius Thomas, Decker, and Welker. Not to mention Moreno out of the backfield.

Seattles defense is not the same outside of their stadium, plus Wilson is not a great qb yet.

I think it will be close with Denver winning at the end.

They've talked about it on ESPN, NFLN, and Sirius. He's been hinting to friends and others for months that if they win it all, he'd strongly consider retiring.
