You guys should check out http://www.ocearch.org/ They have attached trackers to some great whites so you can chart their progress around the world.

Last fall one of their tagged sharks was swimming around right outside the breakers here, just blocks from my house. Those things and the rays you can see out there would make me a bit uneasy about being out in a kayak, but I'm sure that guy has a blast doing it.

They're watching them swim up the NE coast, off of Mass and Maine. They haven't swum there for a long time.

I think the one that was seen here was tagged off cape cod, but it had swam all over the north atlantic. Pretty remarkable the distances they travel

No shit. Either that, or just toss the rod over (I know they're expensive, but **** that).

They "cruise" at ungodly speeds and since the never stop (they can't as was explained earlier) they cover some serious distances in very little time.

I think it would be badass to catch a shark but I would need something one hell of a lot bigger under me than a kayak.

Agreed. I've been on fishing boats in Cabo where they were set up for this with someone to guide me through but never hooked anything like that...

I don't think I'd want to strap a still-alive hammerhead to my kayak even if I did catch it LMAO

Just based on her trajectory, she might have been right around Daytona Beach the same day we were! :D
