Wow!!! That pisses me off. I was hearing great things about Jones during mini-camp. I can't believe they put him on waivers.

You guys got a steal. Great move by Dorsey.

Any old enough to get that?

 Good one!

Not quite 4000 at One Arrowhead but it might seem like it this season....

Bio: Two-year starter who finished with 41 tackles/5 interceptions/9 pass breakups as a senior after 35/2/4 the prior year.

Positive: Big cornerback best in zone coverage. Works to keep the action in front of him, effectively tracks the pass in the air, and shows a nice move to the throw. Solid run defender who wraps up when tackling. Works well with safeties.

Negative: Loses speed transitioning off the line to run downfield with opponents. Struggles in man coverage. Bites on ball fakes and double moves.

Analysis: Jones is a big defensive back who struggles making plays with his back to the ball. He projects as a ninth defensive back at the next level if he proves his worth on special teams.

Maybe he is better suited for S rather then CB.

Is this a troll post? He doesn't fit in with what the Chiefs do at all...

care to elaborate on that a bit? The kid has the physical tools, let him get coached up a bit and see what he can do.

The Chiefs defensive scheme is based on man coverage. According to the scouts, he's bad in man coverage and is mostly useful in a zone.

Yep. I dont like the idea that he loses speed when his back is to the ball...He has good size but doesn't seem to have the quickness and / or cover skills to play effectively in the Chiefs scheme. We dont really know how they plan on using him and he might be fine in zone and special teams....

Some coaching can help his transition a little. Physical size and ability cannot be taught the rest can to an extent. But wasn't footwork off the line the knock on commings coming out? Maybe they think he can be another hybrid guy .

Sean Smith is pretty 'meh' in man coverage also. Maybe they are looking to run more fire/zone concept than cover 1 man.

Ok. That makes more sense. I thought maybe he was only good in the 2-9 formation.
