What's the take like this year? We had record rainfall in the Sandhills. Farmers are jerking off all over their combines. They're growing 10 foot tall corn in the ****ing sand. It's awesome. Wildlife is flourishing this year too. Pheasant have had a comeback this spring.

It's above average, which is a lot better than the 10 bushel shit I've harvested the last couple. Some of the corn was pretty shitty because it couldn't hold on until the rains (finally) came. I still can't distance myself from the drought it seems.
Corn was all over the place, really bad to pretty good. The milo that I got planted on time was consistently solid. The milo that had to wait on the rain looks pretty decent, hopefully it's better than the early stuff, but there are couple fields that are definitely going to be worse from being out of rotation. I even have some double crop milo out. It's not going to be good, but FFS I have a double crop!
I certainly don't have the harvest coming that east of here does, but my god it feels good to cut something better than 10 bu/ac. Jesus that was terrible.
There are definitely more birds out here than there were the last couple, but it's going to take a good long time for the population to get back where it was. It doesn't help that there are foxes around now. I'd never seen them here, but there are 2 families within a mile of the shop. That's bad friggin news for the pheasants.
