Really nervous, anyone ever work there or still do? It's only part time and just to get some $ on the side.

Are you nervous cause you're high?

Except ducting, ironic that the one thing it should not be used for is what it's name is.

I hate it, but it's a necessary evil.

Also, their lumber ****ing sucks. I needed about 10 12' boards to replace some decking and I had to pull about 25 off the stack before I found one that wasn't severely warped or cracked. It would have taken me all day to find 10. It's like they took their leftover rejects, made a stack, and put it out to sell.

I also bought a bathroom vanity there, got it home, unboxed it, and it had a big scratch on one side and a dent on the other.
I box it back up, take it back and go to get another one. While I'm opening a new one to make sure no issues this time, I see the one I just returned being put back on the shelf!

I was pissed as hell. I said--You're going to let someone else buy that just so they can haul a big vanity back and forth just to return it? That's probably how I got stuck with it!

I got 25% off for my troubles. **** that place.

where HD employment is concerned - my advice is - hustle - learn to know a little bit about a lot, that's the critical thing here - you'll never (generally) be asked to know a lot about a specific item.

You'll be fine bro - Deep breaths.

Everyone is an employee at Home Depot now, you have to manually check out your own items now. Last time I went in I forgot my apron and name tag

Buehler445 11-12-2014 06:35 AM

Show up.

Do what they tell you.

Put stuff in the right spot.

Work hard.

You'll be fine. If this is a long term gig get the forklift license.

scho63 11-12-2014 06:37 AM

Hey, can you mismark a few expensive items or place a $500 power tool in a $100 box and tell me where it is?

Just asking.......:D
