JJ finally got it through his thick skull that the Cowboys were not a player or two away from a Super Bowl and they needed to clear cap space if they were going to try to rebuild. Those refs keep giving Denver free 1st downs by penalty, don't they? Except actually, the Broncos, Packers, and Chiefs all have exactly the same number of 1st downs by penalty over the season. What advantage are the refs giving the Broncos if it isn't extending drives?



Looking at the other side, Denver's opponents have been awarded more 1st downs by penalty than either the Packers or the Chiefs. In fact, the Chiefs' opponents have been given the fewest free 1st downs in the entire league.
