Colleges can and do pay a shitload more for good coaches. If Michigan pays that much for Harbaugh, they are getting an absolute bargain when you think about how much money Harbaugh would bring into the program.

Now Gruden has signed a contract with ESPN through 2021 I believe, and the Raiders allegedly offered him much more than 8 mil a year. It also sounds like Harbaugh is really not keen about moving to a different state.

I would think it would be hard to get anyone to leave the west coast for Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Talk about culture shock. Always warm to mostly cold.

I really doubt that they offered him that much.

The only reason Harbaugh would accept the Raiders' offer is if his family was deadset on staying in California. There is no good reason otherwise.

I doubt it would be a culture shock for a person who grew up and spent pretty much his entire career in the upper midwest.

This is the least shocking news ever. Not sure he'll take it. Mitch Holthus was openly talking on the radio about him to the Raiders a couple weeks ago. Said his wife wanted to stay in the Bay Area.

Well if he likes the cold, snowy shit that is Michigan good for him I guess. Most people would stay on the west coast for less money.

Or they might go somewhere where they have a better chance of winning, making more money, have more autonomy in decision-making, and have a shitload better job security

I'm sure that between the contract + incentives + perks, money is not going be the reason Harbaugh turns Michigan down.

It would take you $50M ABOVE another contract to convince you to move to the midwest?

$50M is a bunch of money. In addition to walking into what most would view as a dream job. Even if the Raiders matched, it's a tough offer to beat.
