Any company that looks down on neatly trimmed facial hair isn't a company you probably want to work for.

I applied at Wolfgang Puck's in Disney a couple years ago and they told me I'd have to shave. You're only allowed a moustache there.

What kind of horseshit is that? I can't even grow a moustache anyway.

Um...a culinary extablishment that wants to avoid ****ing face pubes in the soup?

Did you have to enter your PIN on a rotary dial?

No, but you got a receipt that printed out, then took it to the service desk where you entered your PIN again and a human being handed you your money.

That sounds like it would save a lot of time over waiting in line for a human.

Same for a company that looks down on neatly trimmed pubic hair, for that matter.

It was an upgrade over taking your passbook to the savings and loan between 9am and 4pm...

Then why allow a moustache?

Because most dishwashers aren't man enough to grow a mustache so they don't have to worry about such shit.

Shave, if you don't have a lot of experience it will show on your resume and if that is the case, I would say they are looking for young talent.

TLO 10-22-2015 06:50 PM

Going to just shave it all off.

Thanks for the advice all.

Before and after pics!

Before you remove that glorious neck-beard, go to the job site and see what the facial hair sitch is.

SAUTO 10-22-2015 06:55 PM

I would rock the waddle from the Chargers beard.

If I can't have one to work for you then its not an establishment I see a need to be in.

Otter 10-22-2015 06:55 PM

Unless you're going to be wearing a name tag and steel toe boots just shave FFS.

I haven't gone to an interview clean shaven in more than 15 years. At least had a goatee. That's 7 jobs (some of them concurrent). Never seemed to hold me back.

I always present who I am. I'm not going to change who I am. I don't want to set an expectation that I'm not willing to uphold. That means I'm going in with facial hair of some sort, and every interview in the past 10 years, I didn't wear a tie. I'll wear a nice shirt, slacks, a blazer if that's what they want. I don't do ties.
