I just sold three of them. All under 500 bucks.

One had a stain on the stock and I sold it for 300.

Just had way too many.

And you didn't say anything about this predicament to your CP brothers?
We see how you are.

A WASR-10 will be your best value. I'd say it is the standard in the AK community.

The N-Pap's are a good choice, too. Just know that it won't take certain aftermarket parts. For example, if you ever want to change out the furniture, you'll need Yugo-specific handguards and stock.

I happen to have one of each, although my N-Pap is the underfolder variant. I bought the WASR over a year ago (when they were over $100 cheaper) and haven't even shot it yet. Didn't find anything wrong with it during the initial inspection and cleaning. I have shot the N-Pap, and its good to go. Very accurate for an AK, but takes some getting used to shooting an underfolder.

And as people have already said, you should also consider an SKS. They are usually cheaper than an AK, fire the same ammo, and operate in similar manner. I actually prefer the SKS, which is why I have 4 of them! I've found them to be a bit more accurate, and much smoother shooting. Not as much felt recoil in my opinion. A functioning SKS in good condition with the original parts seems to be going for $300 - $350.

Sorry brother. I have a guy who will buy everything anyone wants tho sell on a usual basis ( he will get on tradio and ask for guns and ammo everyday)

If I had known someone was looking I would have talked business lol. I don't like just throwing it out there sometimes lol.

SAUTO 12-16-2015 06:58 PM

I have both I would pick up the ak first over the ar if I had time to pick unless they were 100 yards plus from me.... go to youtube and search for a user called hickok45.... he will tell you anything and everything about any gun you can think of and demo it

Hicocks vids are great. The seem fair and impartial.
Nutnfancy's vids are not bad, though he goes a little overboard in a lot of reviews.

TribalElder 12-16-2015 10:26 PM

AR is a girl gun compared to the force of the AK

TribalElder 12-16-2015 10:27 PM

Also +1 on the WASR

If you want something that looks similar to an AK but is a little different, try a VZ2008 (VZ58). I got mine from Palmetto State Armory for $400 with a cleaning kit and 3 mags.

I'd vouch for this. The Czech weapons are generally superior to the Russian versions.

The rifle on the bottom is my brush rifle that I've used for most of my deer hunting.
All told I've got less than $250 into it but I also started with a pre-Clinton ban Norinco SKS that I paid $60 for.

Love my SKS bought in '93 for $70. I threw a folding stock on mine though when I bubba'd it. It's a very accurate gun.

Although the innards aren't interchangeable with AKs, are they?
