Maybe Clark is letting one of his kids do it. Is it 'take your daughter to work' day?

Dorsey cut bait with Mauga long ago, Dorsey had no remorse for his mistakes.

That what I thought too...Monday was brought in to compete with Colquitt. They would save $4 mill by cutting him. Mauga is a familiar face...

Colquitt's contract expires after this season...Chiefs just gave him a $4.8 million parting gift.

Reid didn't want anymore vets cut this off-season...and added one back.

He's called a "player's coach" for a reason...

What?

Mauga was placed on Injured Reserve on August 30th, 2016.

More revisionist history.

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion just yet that this was a remorseful move by Reid.

This roster isn't exactly stacked at the ILB position. And for all we know, DJ may not be on the same track to return that he was previously. Hopefully that isn't the case.

Mauga has very slim odds to make the team regardless.

Maybe Dorsey wasn't doing much of the work after all.

I can't believe that people are freaking out because Mauga was signed to the 90 man roster.

As I stated earlier, I hope this signing isn't tied to DJ's recovery but most likely, they're just covering their bases with a guy that knows the system and that can help out Wilson, Alexander, March and Eligwe.

I wonder how Dadi Nicolas' outlook is for this season. Right now, I see us keeping 10 LBs to start the season as usual. I think 5 will be ILBs (DJ, Wilson, Alexander, Eligwe, March), with 5 OLBs (Houston, Ford, Hali, Zombo, Nicolas).

But I'd guess that Nicolas is a prime PUP candidate. There should be some serious competition to fill out the back of the OLB depth during preseason.

Then why bother cutting a punter before training camp? Colquitt has played his entire 12 year career for KC...Reid wasnt going to dirty him in his final season. Dorsey was testing the waters...a year in advance.

I dont understand the hate for Colquitt.. he was team mvp for 6-8 years running, still one of the best punters in the league, maybe of all time, and we are talking about literally less than 3% of the cap.

I feel like im taking crazy pills here

Just stop.

Guys are signed and cut all year long. The Chiefs made four transactions today, alone.

No idea but I'd be surprised if he didn't start the season on the PUP.

penbrook 07-06-2017 08:35 PM

DJ has said he will be ready by training camp

and with it...guaranteed the job for their longest tenured player. I like Colquitt and happy for him. It shows Goodwill by the Chiefs too.. A $5 million punter is stupid though....even for a career Chief. It's not my money...so dont care, KC doesn't need any more cap relief this season.

Colquitt is paid twice as much as the 10th highest paid punter. If Dorsey were still GM..Im willing to bet Monday would still be on the team.

Nonsense.

Dorsey cut Maclin on June 2, just after the final offseason practice.

If he was going to cut Colquitt, it would have been then, not in the dead period.
