And if you cut a guy like Wilson (who I don't like but knows the playbook), how long before Dorsett can contribute?

The guy is slight of build and hasn't played well since being a 1st round draft choice. He'd probably be 5th or 6th on the depth chart and comes with a $2.2 million dollar cap hit this year, nearly twice that of Wilson.

I don't see the value.

Yeah, Wilson.

Wilson isn't going to be integral to the offense and they would be fine u til Dorsett got up to speed.

Ideally he'd be a great slot guy and potential 2 or 3 wr and would help the receiving core

I don't look for it to happen though

Yep.

The Patriots will probably throw them a 6th rounder and turn the kid into a star.....

This team is going to be just fine with the guys we have at WR.

Hill has pro bowl potential.
Conley looks improved.
Robinson and Chesson are hungry.

Even Wilson and DAT look improved.

Not sure where Dorsett would fit in here.

A lot of players are hungry.

He better catch everything thrown his way or he's practically worthless.

Aren't the coaches big fans of his route running?

I'd take Dorsett if they'll give him up for a 4th/5th round pick. Would help take some pressure off of Hill as the only real deep threat.

So, in a year where the Chiefs don't have a 1st or a 7th, you're offering a 4th for oft-injury plagued player with worse numbers than Albert Wilson the past two years?

Could we move one of our RBs for Dorsett + a pick? Colts have Gore and Turbin, Gore is the workload back (1,000 yards) & Turbin does goal line work (7 TDs). Maybe we can offer them something in West, Ware, or Spiller they don't already have.

Ware = Dorsett + 6th Rd pick ???

Not sure after the last preseason game. Marlon Mack looked REAL good for them. I know the chiefs were linked to him coming out... makes sense that Ballard took him.

Check him out

I think Ballard is looking for a Defensive player in return.

1. Chiefs get a 7th this year back from trading that shitty CB to Arizona.

2. Dorsett had more yards last season than Wilson ever has and only 2 less catches.

3. Dorsett played in 15 games last year and started 7. He missed a game with a groin injury. He missed 5 games his rookie season due to a broken leg. I'm not sure he's "oft injured," although he did tweak a hammy this offseason. I just don't qualify a broken leg as something that'd occur too often, and groin/hamstring injuries happen to receivers. He hasn't really missed significant time for those things though so hard to call it a problem yet.

4. Dorsett's problem in the NFL so far has been concentration related. I think a change of coaching would do the kid some good. He has far more potential than Albert Wilson.

5. I think you can make that a conditional pick. Maybe its a 6th conditional to a 5th based on performance.

Blech.

Plus, the Chiefs have to give back a 7th to SF for Acker.

I can see Dorsett being traded but I don't get why the Bills would trade Ragland right now. I'd give the kid a chance to rehab fully and see if he fits in their new 4-3 before just dumping him.

Scott McDermott doesn't sound like a guy ready to just dump him either:

Quote:

“Gerald has done some good things. He’s shown an ability to handle more than one position on the defense and in our base packages and also our sub-packages. He communicates well (and) he’s a veteran player. Reggie’s a young player who’s coming off of an injury and is only going to continue to get better. He’s working extremely hard. I thought he did some good things in the game tonight. Played downhill, played physical, so that will be a fun position to watch moving forward.”

JakeF 08-23-2017 02:05 PM

Someone was talking about the possibility of Dion Lewis being traded by New England.
