I would actually put that game JUST out of the top 5. Getting rid of the 93 curse was epic...just maybe (barely) not top 5 epic...for me

So the win wasn't a stepping stone to something greater. It was just a team that wasn't that good, led by a QB who wasn't that good, beating a shitty QB who had no business in the postseason.

Sound familiar?

By that logic, the only important wins in Chiefs history occurred in 1962, 1966, and 1969. If you subscribe to that philosophy, that's your business, but I would expand beyond that. In my opinion, there are important wins that occur in seasons without a Super Bowl win. The 1991 win was important because it was the first Chiefs playoff win since Super Bowl IV.

Yes and beating the raiders literally twice in a row , back to back weeks to eliminate them from the playoffs was ****ing epic...but I get that it is lost to the children here..to know the feeling of hatred for the raiders or of a DECADE where you knew you were going to the playoffs every year because the team was that good

i think the steelers OT playoff win with Montana was better/more important than the Texans playoff game.

One could also argue that the 1991 playoff win over the Los Angeles Raiders (10 to 6 win) i(Sad sigh.)

I actually forgot I went to that game at Arrowhead...lived in LA during those years and got tickets as a x-mas present. Deberg was a tough SOB....

well its apples and oranges

and there are definitely arguments both ways

but that season we did go farther than ever in my lifetime.....and OT playoffs raises the bar immensly

also at that time it was like you had the feeling we SHOULD win a superbowl...whereas in Texas you pretty much knew it was 1 and done....

so I do agree with you but in the scheme of things it is pretty close.....because the number of these kinds of games is so small for us

If we're talking only regular season, 2006 Thanksgiving game vs the Broncos has to be on some list.

I'm younger, so I don't remember anything prior to ~2000.

I was there when it happened & the funny thing was moments before that epic punt return a fan ran onto the field and was chased by security. They tackled his ass good.

That's possibly the biggest upset in modern Chiefs history...I think GB was 13-0...and Rodgers was playing like a man possessed. It was so crazy it led to Crenell getting hired as HC...

I was in mexico and busted my balls to get to a TV that had the Playoff game against the colts that year

I think that was the year my heart began to blacken

I remember when all we wanted was a 17-16 playoff win over anybody. Even the Browns

Beating the Texans 30-0 was bigger than people remember. And that's a good thing, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a huge win

Rasputin 09-05-2017 08:47 PM

56-10 dog pounding the Falcons. Eight rushing touchdowns against the number one rank rush defense.

Our long snapper even had two sacks on M Vic

Funny how going into the Broncos game I felt there was no way we could lose, even while everyone was picking us to suck it up. But the Colts game, I had zero faith.

There shouldn't be that kind of hopelessness going into a playoff game. But with Herm at the wheel, I guess that explains it
