I think they can definitely sign 1 or 2 impact FA for defense. They don't have to be All Pros but good productive starters.

Need a CB (obviously)

And DL help mostly.

I think they can reasonably replace him.

Yeah. At 7M.... deuces yo.

If Veach turns this defense around it will be a minor miracle.

Outside of Peters—yes.

I don’t think the defense will be worse statistically. I’d say it’ll be better by a decent bit. But the talking heads aren’t going to see the big picture. It’ll be labeled a rebuild even though really, the building was already in shambles.

Outside of Colquitt who isn’t exactly in the clear.. are we even going to have a single 30 year old on this team? Obviously this is before FA, but I can’t think of a single one

Lots of cap to play with. To bad we have the worst GM in the game running the show. Say what you will about Dorsey's contracts, and mind you some of them were bad. But it's a good thing he was still in charge when we traded with buffalo. If Veach had been running the show our next 5 first rounders and all the gates BBQ locations would now be in the hands of the Bills.

For the 1000th time this offseason......

Colquitt is a FA.

Fair enough.

I actually think Pugs is right here....theres not a whole lot of room to go down.

Maybe we will get less picks or turnovers but I bet our yards allowed goes DOWN and if anything points per game allowed stay around the same (mid level)

I guess I'm good with this one, but we're going to have to find DB's at some point this offseason with limited cap space with which to do so.

We really aren't "limited" a ton.

Right now we're at roughly $20 million. Cut Hali and we're at $28 million. Make Sorensen a June 1st cut and we're at almost $32 million.

We can get cap space.

If they cut enough dead weight, they will have some real flexibility between cap space (40'ish range) and draft picks.

****ing Great. Was a good find and filled an important role for 4 years, but he's done.
