This was a few years ago. 2012-2013 I think. Maybe they have the quality control figured out now. But it was enough for me to not consider them ever again.

I bought one similar to this, an HID torch light a couple of years ago and the thing is not only a war club, it throws light like nothing I have ever seen. Probably at least 6 times the light of a vehicle on high beam. Great for the mountains at night.

Does that take 2 of the 18650's?

It takes a great big 8700mAh Li-ion battery. I have two of them so I can bang in the other one in a jam and the first one goes dead.

Here's an example:

Huh. Nice. If they could get the working CDR Amps up over 30 or so without dropping the mAh under 6K or so then it'd be an interesting choice for vaping.

Some of these guys are hardcore and build some wild stuff.

thanks man - I appreciate it!

I wanted to bounce this off of the forum - as I'd like to get one more aside from the one I'd linked in the OP - that one is for viewing paint surface on cars. I still need a higher powered one that's a little bigger beamed. I appreciate all of the feedback and ideas!

yeah they get pretty crazy these days - they can practically make a valley look like daytime - I think those types are north of $300.00

Find an haunted abandoned mine to test in. It’s the only way to tell if a flashlight is any good.

This is the one that gets the most use as I'm freaking always doing shit with my hands.

For heavier duty shit, I bought these because they were cheap as **** and take AAA batteries.

Also use this in the field if the situation calls for it.

Yeah. It’s for a hat. It’s not terrible bright but it will light up your hands and you can see where you’re going at night.

Mine is 3 years old and I am .... let’s say not very nice to it.
