Oh, hi Newman
|
If you zero-out the physical aspect of the game, defense is about preparation, instinct, and reaction speed.
I have no idea whether or not this guy is good or whatever. Preseason is a completely different game. I do think, however, he's an instinctive player. His past coaches have all said that, Wally has said that, and you can see it in his game. As a coach's son, he probably knows how to prepare, also. It will be interesting to see how (or if) he takes advantage of his opportunities. FAX |
I suspect he'll pick off Denver's QB around 7 or 8 times tonight.

It's hard to practice tackling when you have little to no contact at practices anymore... The tackling seems to get better in week 6 on... but you can't replicate full contact. |

he's not a superior freak athlete and he's not going to hit like a monster but he'll find the ball and put a hit on people.
HTisbbq is right that Josey Jewell is a good player and I hated that he went to Denver, but Niemann can play ball. He'll help the Chiefs. |
He's pretty small, but damn he does seem to have good instincts. I wanted the Chiefs to pick up Dylan Cole from MSU, local kid from here in Springfield. Dude was undersized but a freak athlete with good instincts.
Seems that's a much bigger deal at ILB than I thought. |
