Fisher is not going to be a swing tackle unless he's not ready to play.

Is this why we didn't really fix the OT problem, was because Reid really wants to keep the same OT's.

Pre-draft smoke screen.

Really why won't Fisher go for it?

We'd be foolish not to leave the door open for them. But as someone mentioned, at what price? As of today, neither could be counted on to be game ready for the start of the season, so you still have to address that. Our season could be over real quick if we have the same OTs we had for the SB.

Id take both back in a heartbeat IF they can play.

Fish may surprise us and be ready to go. its not impossible. Schwartz too.

Maybe by week 6.

MAYBE.

I could be wrong but hasn't all of he reporting on Schwartz been that his post surgery recovery time is relatively short. I know backs are scary but if he can get healthy he seems like the easiest one to bring back.

Seeing Niang work out at left tackle in a strange way makes me feel better about the line. It locks in the left side with Niange, Thuney, and Blythe in at left tackle, left guard, and center. Right now everyone thinks its going to be Long and Remmers on the right side but I could see it being LDT and Long kicking out to Tackle with Remmers going back to Swing. If Schwartz could come back then I think the line becomes a real strength.

Bring both back, and draft a LT or OC as well. Takes some pressure off the new guy, maybe Fisher ends up moving to RT post-injury?

Now our OL is a huge strength.

Actually, Reid today said it was the plan to have Niang play LT, just maybe not in the immediate future. He said they had "aspirations" of putting him at LT before he opted out.

So they were going to sign Trent Williams and then start Niang at left tackle?

Whatever the plan is now was clearly NOT the plan two months ago.

You can have aspirations of playing Niang at LT and still try and upgrade the LT position with Williams at the same time.

I want Mitch to open a restaurant and retire cause that back probably won't hold up. Would love Fisher back on a 1 year.

I think its been communicated to literally, Reid said the was a plan to try him out on the left side. Obviously if theres a chance to have williams and Niang on the right where he played its a big win.

Exactly.

It really isn't that hard to understand if people accept that the team isn't thinking about this situation with the same panic they are.

They're not coming back guys, especially not Fisher.

He left a starter, he's not coming back to be a backup.

This is 90% fan panic. It's like breaking up with a girl, not getting laid for a month and pulling a panic move and asking her back out.
