I'm pretty sure he has a lot of tackles because of the nature of his position and the fact that the ball is thrown in his direction because he's slow.

Short version - he tackles a lot, but 99% of his tackles aren't valuable, and a lot of the ones he misses are extremely painful because they lead to 10+ extra yards for the opponent.
He probably leads the league in invaluable tackles. LMAO

He has lots of tackles because he can't prevent the receiver from making the catch.

He has had some big moments but he can't cover well and he's slow. He can hit and plays rough boy ball but overall he's limited. He's a los safety.

So if he leads the league in missed tackles and also leads the team in actual tackles then he must have a nose for the ball like no other. That literally means he's in on every play.

A Linebacker should be leading the team in tackles. If a safety is doing that then he's a special player.
