I don't know what's worse. The Chiefs struggling or the fans attitude because we've had our first major rough patch in years. Jfc.

I’m not exactly sure what’s wrong, but O-Lines are decimating the middle of our D-Line and Frank Clark gets taken out of too many plays at end. Jarran Reed is dogshit. Hitchens is soft. Honey Badger is a great player, but still takes plays off. The D sucks as a whole. Where the **** is one great player out of 11? There’s no excuse for 11 starters to be this bad.

Gonna stay optimistic. At worst we just have to get past this season and get these shitty defense contracts off the books. But we've turned this thing around before.

And it's hard to get upset since most of those contracts were a huge part of winning a super bowl.

There's no point.

I fought for years against "some people just want to be miserable!!"... because it usually meant people were complaining when the Chiefs were 3-0 in September but had zero chance at playoff success.

This team is a few plays from being 4-0 coming into tonight and is obviously playing poorly on both sides of the field.... and now we're missing the playoffs.

Yeah, it sucks they really aren't looking like a SB-winning team this year, but they'll be in the discussion for the next 20 years. They'll make the playoffs. They could get their shit together and go to another AFCCG or even win it, because no team is invincible and this team knows how to win in the playoffs.

Yet, the miserable ****s are nothing new here... every bad quarter or bad play just justifies the "because Chiefs" mentality that bad shit will always happen forever. A portion of this fanbase is stuck in the 90s and stuck in the "because Chiefs" forever.

Some people simply want to be miserable and find something to complain about.

Many are assuming the remaining schedule will be a cake walk, but when the defense is this bad anything can happen.

You realize we have been missing some of our most important players on defense to start this year right lol? Not to mention all the new faces needing time to gel...

That's 8 very winnable games plus the two we already won. Also there's equally no guarantee we continue to play this bad and never revert back to our average level of play this season.

Effort and scheme poor on D.

Allen running back plays and our linebackers no interest in knocking his teeth out.

I'm mad we kept Hitchens and didn't sign Ingram.

When Jones comes back he needs to go back inside.

Reid needs to get Spags to find changes or move on immediately.

Otherwise, this d will sink us.

Knowing that the Chiefs will now make the playoffs makes me feel better about that first half!

A rough patch is when Mahomes/Tyreek/Kelce eventually miss extended time due to injury, or start to show their age.

It isn't 'a rough patch' when the main drivers of the team are performing their superstar duties, but the rest of the team is such liquid gooey dogshit that even those stars can't drag them to a prime time home crowd win.

rabblerouser 10-10-2021 08:50 PM

we looked like shit at this point in the season in 2019, too.

We lost to GB, Houston, Indy on Sunday Night, and TEN.

Sometimes, you need a wake-up call. I'd rather lose to BUF or BAL now, in the regular season, and then start peaking in Nov/Dec to go on a run...

CoMoChief 10-10-2021 08:52 PM

Hopefully the Chiefs are taking this extra time at the half to search the stands of Arrowhead for some people that may actually want to play defense this evening.

This team will be lucky to be 6-4 like that team was when they flipped the switch.

I'm fervently hoping for wake up calls and turnarounds as well. And I've long been a proponent of how healthy and dialed-in you are in January being a woefully underappreciated metric, often more important than record or base roster. But they won't do it until they do it. And what they're doing in the meantime is nearly record-setting for failure.

Put it this way, I don't know the future, . . . but I know history, . . . and Marino in Miami and Stafford in Detroit played decades of football just like this. It's something to be vigilant against. Or Manning in Indy if you prefer, who also had a 1-1 SB career there, that depended on the vitality of the defense. Wasting tons of record-breaking seasons with all-around mediocre teams.

That’s a good perspective and I tend to agree with you. My point is, these players have outlived their usefulness to our defense. Next offseason should help a great deal in freeing up money and roster spots, but this year’s defense is hard to be enthusiastic about in my book. The D needs a major overhaul. Most of the players being trotted out there aren’t good enough and it shows. I expect Clark, Reed, Hitchens, and Sorensen to all be shown the door in the offseason, possibly even letting Honey Badger walk. Whatever it takes, but this need defense needs addressed.

That's why I said it's our first rough patch in years. People didn't give up on the Chiefs because Mahomes got hurt. They knew we were a good team who got burned by an injury.

Fans now are coming to grips that we aren't dominant right now. We are still better than most of the league. And people are acting like we're complete trash. It's bandwagon bullshit. I'm frustrated as hell right now and yeah, I know the rest of the season will be a grind. I also realize how damn good we have it.

I’m so tired of the time to gel bullshit. There are flat out incompetent players on this team that should be benched. You continue to allow them to play it tells guys like jones “don’t worry about your little wristy problem poor baby you still get a check”. The lack of fire and idiocy of the defense has spread to the offense now. No one on this team outside of hill, Kielce and Mahomes actually play like the nfl is keeping score.
