Calvin Austin is insanely agile and thus intriguing as a gadget player. Just not sure he fits in with this current version of the team.

He'd have to take Hardman's snaps and i don't see that happening.

This is all great, thanks for doing this The Franchise.

It feels like CP is generally much higher on Cameron Thomas and Sam Williams than most of the analysts and pundits. Not sure if that's partly because people see them as more typical Spags DEs. I get that but I like Ebikitie and Bonitto and think they could work perfectly well - maybe not ideal fits but overall more rounded players imo. I don't really hear many people mentioning Hall.

I’ve been trying to tell everybody for weeks that we are higher than Thomas and Williams than most.

And I think that’s a good thing for us.

Obajo 8th? Thomas 16? **** this guy

Thanks. Figured Cook might be a guy that would need to be the pick at 64 in order to get him. Lance Zierlein is high on him too, relatively speaking. I like the kid a lot. I think he's what's missing in the secondary. The Chiefs have nobody physical or that's a tone-setter really. Nobody that will come up and stick a running QB or lay out a WR coming across the middle and make them think twice the next time. I like the versatile guys, but I feel like you gotta have the yin to the yang.

I've been dying for somebody like that back there - a Kam Chancellor or Ryan Clark type!

Chieftain 04-07-2022 02:11 PM

Interesting rankings. I agree with most of it although a few players are ranked too low for my liking. I don't think Ebiketie should be higher than Ojabo. He is not as explosive a pass rusher and is an even worse run defender than Ojabo.

Yep and he'd be a little bit in between them I think. He's not lacking versatility because he played everywhere on the back end in college. That said, his best stuff seems to be down in the box as a SS. I've been trying to work on my what i want mock for this year with an effort for it not to suck this go around, lol, and I keep coming back to this kid.

Man. If we can wait till the third to draft a pass rushers snd get 2 good ones in the third, that goes a long way towards fixing this defense with limited resources.

First 4 picks can go WR and secondary…which also seems to be the sweet spots.

I think that’s his ceiling, which is still pretty damn good.

This is from The Beast:

He is an NFL starter in the Diontae Johnson mold with better hands and punt-return skills.
LMAO

Absolutely spot on.

What's Brugler's take on Smoke Monday, S Auburn?

He has Logan Hall as an EDGE? I thought he was an interior DL. What’s he write about him?

He wrote him as an edge based on his build iirc

Would be interesting to see his Safety and CB rankings if you get a chance, thanks.

I think there's a chance you get him in the 3rd and that's where I'd probably want to pick him. I like him too though, and I think there's the potential for him to be more than a thumper. He looks like he has decent athleticism and range and any patchy coverage is more about angles than a lack of dynamism.

As an aside, but did I read from further up that he put on 40 pounds? It always absolutely blows my mind how much good weight DBs can pack on at that age and it doesn't negatively impact their speed. I mean, I could probably pack on 40 pounds these days but I'm not sure it looks the same.
