Great news.

I can't wait to see how our new look offense better utilizes our OL.

But again - the 'old' offense yielded exceptional expected yards per carry numbers. I think it was top 3 in football.

It wasn't the 'utilization of our OL' that was the problem. Our RBs just really sucked. The team ran poorly because the RBs ran poorly, and that's pretty rare in the modern game. Usually your running game is as good as your run-blocking is. Few RBs really move the needle in either direction.

Our wasn't. CEH wasn't as bad as Taylor was good or anything, but Williams was, IIRC. Williams was getting 'more' yards less than expected than Taylor was getting OVER expected.

Our RB room was just trash. And honestly I still don't think it's all that good - but at least it's different enough to have a little bit of hope.

Not really - rookie deal is fully guaranteed so replacing him on the roster w/ Pacheco or McKinnon actually COSTS us cap space.

Maybe traded. But there's no cap benefit and ultimately I just can't see cutting him to keep a 7th rounder w/ lousy vision on the roster instead. But man, that would really demonstrate how bad that pick was, wouldn't it?

Yeah, he's here til that fourth year is over.

But damn.

**** me, this offense would be so nasty.

If you say that 3 times looking into a mirror, HE will appear.

Let's be careful out there, boys...

noice

Let’s trade CEH and a 4th to the Bears for Quinn.

You probably could get him moved for a 7th next year just to dump the salary.

But why bother? It's like $1.3 million in savings and his bonus would accelerate so for this year it's pretty much a wash. Wouldn't get any real savings until next year.

Cap space isn't really an issue right now anyway since we didn't seem inclined to actually improve the DL much.

No, he has a cap hit of $2.95M, and if we cut him now his cap hit goes up to $4.17M. So, if he is getting cut, it will be next year, when we can save a little more than $2.5M

Probably have to use a 3rd, if it’s CEH we’re trading.

RoJo probably gonna get Carlos Hyde'd

I know we've hashed out the CEH thing over and over, but looking back....he just didn't really have the physical attributes to go in the first round.

I think you're definitely using revisionist history. He was an amazing back that last year at LSU

There was a lot of hype about his receiving skills, but Andy Reid does not seem to buy it.

Who was the QB and WR's on that team again?

I mean, I'm guessing you could have been a good RB there.

The problem turned out to be the vision.

He just looked like someone with the first step to get into seams, fight for hard yardage and keep you ahead of the sticks without being a game-breaker.

But he simply hasn't played that way. And I still think we failed in how we used him a bit - WAY too many outside zone runs. And on occasion that elusiveness did flash on inside zone. So there's still hope there.

But now we're going to see fewer cover 2 shell concepts so his job is going to be even tougher inside the tackles.

So I'm not sure what good he'll actually be at this point...
