If Fish was still a starting caliber LT he wouldn’t still be a FA. I wouldn’t mind signing him as a veteran backup, but the added rhetoric about him being better than OBJ is incredibly stupid.

Bushman with a broken clavicle.

According to Heavy., Fish has already declined 9 other team's offers.

Now, I'm not saying that he can still play at his highest level, but he's a very experienced, smart football player, and can probably still show a rook like OBJ a thing or two about how to play LT.

You said to have him start over OBJ to teach him. I don’t deny there are a few things he can teach him as a veteran. All vet players should have some advice for the younger guys. Turning down 9 offers means he’s still holding out hope for an injury to be able to still play. None of those offers were to be a starting tackle after the season he had last year. He’s more likely to join Dallas with the Tyron Smith injury than anywhere else, but even then he’d be competing for a limited starting role with one of the backups.

I did say that, and I'm not completely sure it wouldn't be a good idea. Of course, I'm assuming that Fish is healthy, or at least healthier than he was last season, and that he could play at least 80% of the way back to his 2018 level. That's more than a couple 'ifs' for sure.

Doesn't mean it's impossible though.

Regardless, the chiefs tackle play outside of OBJ is not good. A solid backup that already knows the playbook would be nice to have.

That's usually about a 6 week injury. If we want to carry 4 TEs, the only soul left is Franks and he hasn't shown up. So do you carry either Bell or Bushman on the final 53 then place them on IR? They can come back after 4 games, so that would fit for Bushman's injury. Bell and a hip injury requiring surgery may be much longer. Take into account Bell is 31 and Bushman 26.

You know what I saw out of Williams? A guy with speed and coverage ability who was always RIGHT THERE but made some rookie mistakes.

I don't feel at all negatively about this guy.

Fuuuuuuuck put that guy on IR and keep him. He reminds me of Dalton Schultz

I'm leaning to carrying Bushman on the final 53 and then put him on IR/designated. I think Bell is probably out for quite awhile, if not forever (with the Chiefs) as he's an UFA in '23.

Has anyone ever heard of Bushman before tonight? I know I hadn’t….

Not once, was wondering where he came from, maybe Andy was hiding him as our new secret weapon.

I think if we signed Fisher, it's more likely to be in expectation that he'd play RT.

I think Jones deserves a roster spot after last night. He can take Bell’s.

Agree. It only makes sense. CEH and McKinnon both have injury concerns and Pacheco doesn't seem to be ready for the type of role yet. Considering that Rojo has a better ability to run between the tackles than either CEH or McKinnon it only makes sense to have him on the opening 53 man roster.
