If Mahomes becomes seriously injured on a play, they will institute a new rule.

That is how the NFL operates. They are reactionary. Injuries to Brady and Rodgers led to the no sacks at knees and the full weight rules.

The new rules only come around when the star QBs are hurt.

Carson Palmer in 2003 had the same injury as Brady. No response.

But the backlash this weekend probably has the NFL thinking that this protecting the QB has gotten out of hand.
