All three of the AFC West rival teams could be potential landing spots for Payton. It's interesting though considering his raving comments about Mahomes recently ("by far the best QB in the league"). He would have to believe that one of these other AFC West teams has a better roster to close that gap and make it a reasonable job for him. I brought up the Rams & Chargers because Payton has been in Los Angeles a lot with FOX Sports lately. If he enjoys the town, those two L.A. teams both seem like solid places for Payton to land. Brandon Staley is on the hot seat for sure. Sean McVay was allegedly going to retire from coaching after the Super Bowl, but he changed his mind. I really would not be shocked if McVay suddenly quits at some point. |
I need to see if Payton isn't a bit overrated. Maybe he needs a new drug and D scandal

As someone who has lived most of his life in KC, but also spent a fair amount of time living in New Orleans, going to college, playing music professionally, Payton is a bad fit for Kansas City because he has a huge ego. He was great back in 2005 or whatever. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he is unqualified. It just doesn't work. He is too close to Dallas with his relationship to Jerry Jones and nobody around here will trust it. If Big Red Retires after winning the Superbowl this year, Payton comes in, ****s the offensive continuity, Mahomes gets hurt bad, misses a year or two and gets traded to Dallas. That's what Sean Payton gets you. **** that shit. You need Andy to find the next Andy.

Our future HC could possibly already be on the staff. |
