He’s good. But Chicago made the right move
The before and after trade stats to justify the contract are so dumb. The schedule took a nose dive, they also got Marcus Williams back, Kyle Hamilton did a complete 180, etc Like I said. Good player, bad contract. He’s not Fred Warner or prime Bobby Wagner |

He's eligible for a contract extension after next season. And the sooner you extend him (assuming that's the direction the Chiefs choose to go), the cheaper he'll be. That said, he's not getting Roquan Smith money. He's not the playmaker Roquan Smith is. Further, Smith has been 2nd Team All Pro twice with the Bears and has been elected to the Pro Bowl a couple times, including this year. His resume is quite a bit more stacked with accomplishments than Bolton's. Bolton is a very good ILB and a tackling machine and I would love to have him here long term, but he's looking closer to $15 mil. per year than $20, unless he absolutely BLOWS up next year and has an All Pro year. Then, yeah, he could probably get a Smith deal. If the Chiefs were to sign him now (they can't obviously), he'd be looking at something like 4 years, $60 mil. with $35 mil. gtd. Obviously, as salaries rise that number can be adjusted to compensate accordingly. But that's roughly where he's at right now. |

I could Giants and Lamar Jackson being a good fit as they are already an offensive scheme built around the run game with a mobile QB. The D is strong and with a top 10/12 QB they could make big strides.
