Where else you going to find a WR like this: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=deandre+ho...%3DxP3Y7pc4x9M

For less than $20m a year or In the 2nd round or later of this year's draft?

If he would play on his current deal, sure.

But there's no indication he will. It's a pipe dream, man.

It's a fun one though!

Who's worth trading up in the 1st or 2nd for?

You really have to look at the cost associated with doing anything substantial enough to get into a range that will give you a reasonable multiplier on skill and I just don't see many of those opportunities in this draft.

It cost us a 3rd and 4th to go from 29 to 21 last year. This year, to get to 21 from 31 would need a 5th-round pick added to that equation. I just don't feel like there will be a guy there that will be a multiplier.

I feel like you have to get to 13 to get the 3rd OT in Jones before there's a drop-off. I'd maybe make a small move for Anton Harrison if we traded OBj. I think you have to get at least that high to get one of the top 3 edge rushers and that probably isn't high enough.

There are only two WRs I feel have a physical profile worth going up and getting above the rest and that's Hyatt and Johnston. There's a solid shot both end up in the top 15 as well. Detroit at 6 or 18 and Houston at 12 could be landing spots. I think you'd have to get at least to 17 if Detroit doesn't go WR at 6. You have the Chargers at 21 that would probably pounce. I would go up for either of those guys if FA goes well.

I dunno, I don't LOVE too many prospects enough to go get them ahead of others.

I feel it's more likely we trade down than trade up. Though, having the draft in KC may make us feel like we have to take a first round pick?

I think I'd rather load up picks in the 32-100 range and take advantage of a lot of the mid-level talent that this draft seems to be filled with.

Trade out of 1 to pick up an extra later round pick, then package up some of our 11 draft picks to move back into the 2-4 rounds to load up.

Yeah, it really doesn't seem to be a real "high end" kinda draft does it.

There will be high end guys come from it as there always is, but it seems more of a real middle of the pack draft than a top heavy one.

O.city 02-16-2023 08:11 AM

I know people won't like it, but it really feels like a year they may look to move a pick for a current player.

Not a 1 or 2, probably 3, but you get some of those later picks you could grab a good vet somewhere.

I'd rather flip a 3rd and change for 2 years of D-Hop at similar money.

O.city 02-16-2023 12:14 PM

Hopkins is just getting to that age where he's gonna slow down. He doesn't rely on speed so it won't really kill him, but that's alot of money for an older guy.

I dunno. Seems more a move for a team with a cheap QB.

O.city 02-16-2023 12:15 PM

I dont' think we can do it financially....but man, trading the 31st pick for DJ MOore would really be a boon.

I don't really feel like it's a middle-of-the-pack draft. It is really similar to last year's draft to me. I think it's strong. I just don't feel like it's worth to go up into the top tier of players at most of the positions KC needs. The only way it's worth it is probably to go up and get a LT if that ends up being a need.

This is shaping up as Tier 1
QB Stroud
QB Levis
QB Young
RB Robinson
WR Johnston
WR Hyatt
TE Mayer
OG Torrence
OT Johnson
OT Skoronski
OT Jones
DT Carter
ER Anderson
ER Murphy
ER Wilson
CB Gonzalez
CB Porter
CB Witherspoon
S Branch

Here are a few with a strong argument for Tier 1 and are players KC probably has the most reasonable chance to get to.
RB Gibbs
TE Musgrave
LB Sanders
DT Bresee
CB Ringo
WR Addison

That puts you at 25 players. That doesn't mean all those players will go in round 1 but those are currently the strong bets.

Then here's kind of the next tier of 20, which is what KC is probably looking at drafting from.
QB Richardson
RB Achane
TE Washington
TE Kincaid
WR Smith-Njigba
WR Downs
OT Harrison
OT Wright
OT Jones
LB Simpson
DT Smith
ER VanNess
ER White
ER Smith
ER Ojulari
ER Hall
ER Tuipulotu
CB Banks
CB Forbes
CB Smith

This last group probably has a few changes. The first 25 don't probably change a great deal.

would love to see us fleece Atlanta for Kyle Pitts
