They should just end punting. Must go for it on 4th down.

Im saying as a rule. Make it illegal to punt. It would be a more fun sport to watch.

I mean, the tender is just a cost controlled, no risk contract for the team. It's a good deal for the team.

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but Townsend is a RFA, right? Which means he can't just be poached; KC has the opportunity to match, correct?

So based on the number of suitors Townsend gets, it can tell Veach something about the market, or so I assume.

God friended me and told me football needs to ban punting.

I don't think this happening right before the draft is a coincidence.

Townsend was excellent last season - but he's still just a punter and punters are almost completely fungible. Townsend himself was a UDFA who won an off-season competition.

Tommy - we can make another one just like ya. You want a little long-term security or do you really want to head into this draft with a team that has more late round picks than likely roster spots and run the risk of getting priced into FA...

He had some untimely shanks his first couple years, but has turned into a top punter. Not to mention he was clutch on that fake punt throw last year (forgot which game)

Now if he would be so kind as to get signed by a stupid team to a long term deal so we can get a comp pick out of him on his way out, that would be great

The deal he signed almost had to be a 3-4 year deal. Maybe longer.

I don't think the deal being reported was just him signing the RFA tender. I'm betting they agreed on a LTC.

I think it was just his tender. I haven't seen anything reported about a LTC.

Well that ain't even news then.

Was there some belief that the ****ing punter was going to sit out?

Womble 04-26-2023 09:48 AM

If he could get his ball placement right for Butker this season I'll be mightily pleased.
