But I have zero faith in our #2 tackle spot. Niang/Geron/Kinnard is just not a plausible setup going into the season.

I feel okay at IOL but the Chiefs have been looking at several G/C prospects late. Like 7th-round types, they might be able to stash on the PS late.

I have this odd feeling Jerome Carvin is going to be a Chief. He's got amazingly great flexibility on the interior.

You are right. KC certainly seems to need depth at OT.

I had hopes for Darian Kinnard and perhaps he will be better this year. But also, maybe he moves to the interior.

Geron Christian is gone and is now with the Miami Dolphins.

Lucas Niang has talent but don't know that you can depend on him because of health.

The Chiefs gave Prince Tega Wanogho a contract for $1,865,000 cap hit and $750,000 guarantee, so I am assuming they hope he can contribute.

I'm sure Brett Veach is working on a plan to have an offensive line that can protect Patrick. It will be interesting to see what he comes up with.

Man, I started working on a prediction, but I just ended up coming to the conclusion of they could actually go three or four different directions through the fourth round, and there's not really a better or worse path they can take. We're so solid at some certain positions that even the positions that need addressed don't make me feel like panicking if they aren't drafted in any one certain round.

It just feels like a weird draft this year. Weird in a good way, that is.

I agree. I am pretty sure Chiefs will draft an OT, Edge, WR, and DT but order, where, and how that will fall is anyone's guess.

Add to that Chiefs and Brett Veach usually move to get players that they want, and it adds to the mystery.

Yup. Veach can do anything and it wouldn't make me upset in the least. I might say a guy seems like a bust to me but I won't bag on positions he goes with at all.

I don't think he's going to go all out or anything but I think there will be at least one pick somewhere and I'd lean heavily towards OT and then an IOL that can flex to OC.

Maybe a tackle in lieu of Gervin Dexter, then.

It’s going to be a fun draft between picks 20 and 60. There seems to be a lot more variation this year on big board rankings. You see guys like Keion White and Hyatt all over the place. You can run some mock drafts where you stay put and grab 3 players that are all gone by pick 40 in other mocks.

Lots of talent and possibilities, I like it.

Draft week is here. I'm going to change mine a bit. Staying OT in the first, but I'm switching sides. And I'm going staying in the trenches in the 2nd and 3rd on the defense.

1st. Anton Harrison LT
2nd. Adetomiwa Adebawore, DE
3rd. Gervon Dexter, DT
4th. Zack Kuntz, TE

If WR is a "need" after the Texas workouts have been completed and weighed in on by Mahomes and Kelce, I think we go the veteran route with working a trade with Arizona for Hopkins instead of more inexperience to add to the group we already have in place.

For you guys that do not like my "Best-Guess Realistic Chiefs Mock", rest easy. I have most likely just sealed these guys fate of never being a member of the Chiefs.

This is where I'm at, honestly.

It would seem to me that the best value would be EDGE in the first, WR in the second, and an OT in the 3rd. DT, maybe TE in the 4th.

As for the individual players? I really don't know. There are like 5 guys around those spots at each position, it'll boil down to which one they like best for their systems.

Yep.

We could literally line up tomorrow to play, and the team would be as good or better than the one that just won the Super Bowl, and nobody else in the NFL can say that.

A Harrison OT
G Dexter DL
