I'd be pretty disappointed if he's caving, but I doubt he is. |

The conversation:
Beach: Hey, Chris, guess whose already ridiculously high salary ain't counting against our cap this year. Chris: ....wait...how Bert: Not only THAT, but this fat **** ain't getting paid neither. But the BEST part Chris: Don't Brad: Is that every moment he isn't here? You feel me? Every game he misses? It impacts his salary...SIGNIFICANTLY...NEXT SEASON! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... Chris:... Chris: I gotta make a call.... |

Maybe CJ wasn't exactly 'ride or die' on this one. "I'll eat a LITTLE shit here, fellas - but I'm not torching a million bucks every 7 days...." |
I'm just picturing Jones patting his agent on the head and telling him, "at least we tried"

I don’t know - aside from, “There’s been no communication,” this sounds like the bare minimum that Veach should be saying at this stage to stop the what-the-**** train from hurdling forward at full speed.
I’d like to be optimistic but this doesn’t move the needle much for me. Hope I’m wrong. |

Oh hell, I'll throw a bluesky theory out there.
CJ's agent started this whole fiasco. Talked CJ into going along with it initially. Then last week, maybe even as late as last Friday, Cj sees the writing on the wall, understands Veach well enough to realize that he's in a lose-lose situation, and calls his agent and tells him the holdout is over. Just takes the reins from him and tells him to go back to Veach and make a deal both sides can live with. Agent tucks his tail between his legs and now here we are. |
