He adds nothing to the offense or special teams and takes up a valuable roster spot. Remember when 3rd rd pick Keivarae Russell was released before the season? Sometimes you just have to cut your losses.

Agreed. If it's between signing Marquise Brown or Keeping Sky Moore, I'd happily sign Brown.

He’s not good enough to be a 3. Barely even a 4.

So this is based to a total salary cap of $240million in 2024?

Cool! From my limited study I think the cap will end up being $250million in 2024 and $280million in 2025. So we'll have a little more wiggle room to put together another Championship roster.

ESPN listed OT Guyton in their list of 1st rounders with plus traits.

Tyler Guyton, Oklahoma (No. 14)
Comp: Lane Johnson

Watching Guyton -- a former defensive lineman -- glide across the field in pass protection and run blocking makes it hard to not see Johnson, a former Sooner. Guyton is 6-foot-7 and 315 pounds with beautiful agility and length. He's still developing his full toolbox at right tackle but has the lower-body traits to play the left or right side in the pros. In 29 college games (15 starts), Guyton allowed one sack.

Jordan Morgan is gonna get some love too. He's a really good pass protector. Wouldn't be disappointed to see the Chiefs look at him at LT either.

There's no world in which this is an equation.

Think we'd get him in the 2nd?

He goes in the first IMHO.

Nope. 1st rounder.

Just wondering if R1 gets eaten up with QBs and WRs before it gets to him

The draft is lacking in 1st round talent on defense so we'll see. I think he's fringe though. Not going to make it to our 2nd.

Wonder if we could move up in the 2nd? Or trade back a little from the first. I think our first pick is almost certainly a WR, as it should be. I'd also hoped and expected we'd then go for a developmental LT and then another WR or TE. Obviously dependent on how the board falls.

Problem is I think we need a LT that is less "developmental". I'd almost certainly try and get Tyron Smith for a year and pick a LT R2 that may need a bit more time.
