$10K or 100K doesn't matter.

I joked last night in a thread that he'd be suspended four games.

But in all seriousness, considering he didn't make physical contact with a ref, nor did he threaten them in any way ("They batter watch their backs" or something), I can't imagine they would suspend him for what he said.

Anyone who thinks the NFL will suspend Mahomes call me. I've got some property in Yuma AZ that's going to be the new Malibu as soon as the big one hits California and it breaks off into the ocean. I'll sell it to you for 1/3 current Malibu prices.

Patrick Mahomes makes a lot of money for the NFL. Hopefully the NFL understands which side their bread is buttered on. If not, **** them.

This.

While I agree with everything Mahomes said it's not going to help the team at all.

Who cares?

Fining anyone that questions the refs is more shady BS.

Would they suspend him for abusing the refs verbally?

No, no, no. The opposite is true. If anything else, this will help the team. Mahomes has made too many deposits in the “Goodwill” account. He was overdue to make a withdrawal based on how this team has been playing.

Instead of parity the NFL provides parody

This wiped away the McDermott crisis. Something in two games tonight will likely overshadow this. Attention span are nanoseconds

FloridaMan88 12-11-2023 09:17 AM

The NFL should consider suspending Toney... and MVS as well... and Skyy Less.

People who think Mahomes will be suspended make me laugh. He will get a fine but no player has ever been suspended for calling out the refs

DrunkBassGuitar 12-11-2023 09:18 AM

not even the nfl is dumb enough to hand out a suspension over this

Wouldn't that be something... I'll be sad when Mahomes retires, but won't be sad when that means going back to only tuning into the NFL for the CGs and the SB, if they have completely ruined those by then.

Buehler445 12-11-2023 09:20 AM

Whatever.

To anyone that has ever ****ing watched football beyond just a casual fan level of engagement knows the refs are ****ing horribad.

If the NFL makes a big deal about it, it will just draw more attention to it. So yeah, fire away Goodell.

And Jesus, if he ends up suspended, set fire to the league.

FloridaMan88 12-11-2023 09:21 AM

Von Miller plays a few days after beating up his pregnant girlfriend... but focus instead on Mahomes/Reid expressing frustration over the officiating.

This is the most current comparison (from 2022) I can find and Mahomes' situation is far less egregious:
https://www.nfl.com/news/broncos-wr-...anlike-conduct

Quote:

NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Friday that the NFL fined Jeudy a total of $36,281 for unsportsmanlike conduct -- $23,020 for making contact with a game official plus $13,261 for removing his helmet -- per sources informed of the situation.

Early in the contest, Jeudy went ballistic over an apparent non-call, removed his helmet while screaming, and bumped an official during the tirade.

The Broncos receiver was lucky to avoid an ejection on the spot. The league also declined to suspend him for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. But $36K is a hefty fine.
And in 2012, Belichick grabbed the arm of an official and was fined 50k.

0% chance we're talking about a suspension.
