Hilton Garden Inn - South Strip. No resort or parking fees. But it's really about a mile south of the Strip.

My flight home yesterday went through Baltimore, and the airport employees were not shy. Even had a janitor in the restroom stop me to talk Ravens/Chiefs. At our gate we were all headed to KC and it was Chiefs gear everywhere. Airport employees were stopping by to talk trash to the crowd, and taking live social media videos with us in the background. KC fans were doing the chop and trash talking back. Finally one of the ladies who worked I think for Airport security shouted over to the Southwest counter, "Would somebody please BOARD these people?!" Pretty fun.

Spend bunch of money to go see the Chiefs win and then be murdered by a Baltimorian

Or save that money and live to see another SB championship

We had over 1000 Chief fans at each of our "tailgates" in Miami and Tampa. No one had tickets to the game and 85% flew in. In Tampa we filled a minor league soccer stadium with Chief fans and watched the game on the pitch.

Its most definitely a thing these days since SB tickets are $5K - $10K each.

Southwest points and a win on the moneyline against the Bills are a powerful combination. I will be there and I will be loud! I'm going with a Ravens fan and am already looking forward to shit-talking him the whole ride home.

If you wind up about 5 blocks in the wrong direction of the stadium, you are in the heart of The Wire. As bad a ghetto as any place I've seen.

If you stay anywhere near Inner Harbor and Stadium or Old Baltimore near Route 40, you are fine.

Chaps Pit Beef is a must and Obrycki's Restaurant and Bar for crab cakes.

If you need medical help, John Hopkins University Hospital is second to none.

Is there anywhere you haven't been?

I've lived in Maryland for most of the last 30 years. Been to a few Chiefs-Ravens games and countless Royals-Orioles games. Probably going to sit this out and watch in the Chiefs man-cave. Tickets are $800 and up to get in plus cold/rain and dealing with drunken Ravens fans who can be trash. So I'll probably pass, but still keeping an eye on ticket prices in case I change my mind last minute. People are rude as shit to opposing fans, so you got to be prepared for that.

For those not familiar, actually driving into the inner harbor / Camden Yards is surprisingly a dream - easy to get in and out for a major city. Obviously a little harder on a Ravens gameday. But it's right next to I-95 and so easy to get in and out. I've never taken the train to the stadium but that might be a nice idea too. Stick to the inner harbor safety-wise and you'll be just fine. Can't guarantee your safety walking around in Chiefs gear though. Hope everyone has fun. Looking forward to Lamar shitting the bed and Mahomes the hero again.

Seems like a dangerous town to visit.

I've been there a bunch. It's not that bad as long as you stay in the touristy parts.

But one time my GF and i went down to see the Royals play the Orioles (Ventura and Machado started a brawl). We were trying to find a specific lot that I had a parking pass for and took a wrong turn. We very quickly were in the WRONG part of town.

Another time I went down with a colleague for a conference. We wanted to try out a brewery in a swanky neighborhood, but to get there we passed through a Red Light district. Felt really dangerous to people from small town PA. Again, not that far away from our hotel/convention center.

A friend of mine is a Ravens fan and once parked in a lot where someone was taking money. There was even a cop on the corner watching. When he came out of the game (at 11:30 after a MNF game) his car and everyone else's were gone. They had to call around town to finally find it at an impound lot. He didn't get his vehicle released until 3 AM.

Definitely know where you're going if you go there.

Damn right. If you go to an Orioles game, there is ample parking in nearby garages and very easy. But football just drives so many more people to the inner harbor. Definitely do not park miles away and plan on walking, parts of the city are quite ****ed up.

Mahomes comin'

BWillie 01-23-2024 05:29 PM

I've been to Camden Yards and the Casino there 10 years ago or so. It was fine and worth seeing. I was always told Boston sucked but I liked it there alot better. DC was really boring to me. No cool downtown atmosphere, short buildings. Didnt get that one.
