I didn’t realize how deep the dysfunction ran in Chicago. Knew McCaskeys are horrendous owners. Did not realize that trace armstrong has been playing puppet master for years including hiring of eberflus and including keeping him. And word is that he is connected to Mike McCarthy, Lincoln Riley and Brian Kelly and many bears fans fear he has such a stronghold on the mccaskeys that he could call this one.
Just never made sense that Ryan poles built a good team but whiffed so badly on the head coach. If he doesn’t get absolute control over the next HC he needs to get the hell out of there. Thought there would be stones thrown at poles but bears fans think he’s a puppet on eberflus. |
I am sure Ben Johnson would prefer to not coach in the same division as his current team, but he won’t find a better job realistically available than Chicago.

Caleb did well this year considering he played for such a horrible coaching staff and no offensive line to protect him...

Yeesh didn’t realize that even Shane Waldron, the oc they fired a few weeks ago, is also a client of trace Armstrong. Feels like we’re putting the pieces together. It’s like when all these times let parcells shadow president for their teams. Bears have let polian, acorsi and now trace Armstrong run their team.

Instead of punishing somebody for a mistake, psychologists believe that you should just give them a timeout.

hire, lose, rinse, repeat,

I could care less about what the Bears or Lions do or the outcome of any of their games. But the end of that game yesterday was offensive. Bears should have fired him on the spot.

And even as Caleb was throwing the spontaneous Hail Mary, I was laughing and said, 'Eberflus is getting fired right after the game.' Took a few extra hours, but he was dead man walking before the end of that play, imo. |
Hilarious.

Should have happened as soon as the game ended yesterday, Or last year

As I've read here a few times in other cases, 'he should not have been allowed to travel home with the team.'

Meant to post this here...
Eberflus had a decision to make at :32. 1. Call the timeout immediately after the sack and: a. Get a quick first down and clock it to stop the clock before kicking a FG b. Miss on the quick first down with an incomplete pass before kicking a FG c. Come up short of the first down still in the field of play and run the FG team out quick or... 2. Save the timeout and get a quick/fast play then call the TO. Either is fine with the amount of time they had (around :14), but Caleb came to the line after the decision to go with option 2 above and sat there for seven seconds and then waited to go deep on a play that took more than seven seconds to develop. Eberflus was not a good coach and should never have been kept around for this season with a new QB coming in but the charade that happened last night was almost entirely on Caleb. |
