Why the **** is a chef from NY making a sandwich for the sidelines in Kansas City anyway? This isn't even about the chef, it's the shit poor broadcast.

This is the dumbest gripe I’ve ever heard. David Chang is a world renowned chef. He’s all over cooking shows and Netflix. Amazon chooses a celebrity chef to make a recipe for thanksgiving leftovers so he made his take on a sandwich. And he even added brisket to the sandwich to give it a Kansas City spin. In the pregame show he was feeding everyone from Tony Gonzalez to Andrew whitworth, and he did a food eating contest.

Your gripe was a split second hesitation being caught by surprise by jones’ question. Immediately after he offered to take the pork out so obviously he knew what was in the sandwich. But why does that even matter? Why the hell did Maddien do a turducken? Maybe because it’s entertaining. Just a thought.

I'm sure whoever sit down with them would have loved some KC BBQ.

They did a rib eating competition with the “chef” before the show. And he incorporated smoked brisket into the sandwich. They paid homage to kc. They get kc bbq all year long. They asked him to riff on thanksgiving leftovers which is way more interesting and timely on Black Friday.

There are a lot of holes in amazons broadcast but I don’t get the gripe with this. I geek out over cooking shows and this was a pretty cool twist.

I believe so. This guy is the Executive producer of NFL on Prime Video. He's a 30 year veteran still working for NBC (Sunday Night Football)

Pretty shocking that the Amazon broadcasts are so weird. I read somewhere that they are trying to be different and trying some things, some will stick some won't.

Also, found this pretty interesting Reddit thread with a 10-year NFL broadcast vet doing an AMA

I agree. I welcome it. Their game coverage is patchy right now.. But nfl coverage is stale and has been for decades. You need someone like Amazon to take big risks. A lot will fail, a lot will be great, other stations will copy what’s great and ditch the bad. That’s how innovation works. I’m not a fan of how patchy it is to subscribe to lots of different streaming services. But I welcome throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks.

And the team of Al Michaels, herby and hartung is solid too
