Ha! You know I'm going to love that one! I've been going on about this guy in the WR thread since the CU/CSU game Sept 2023. Some team is going to get a steal with him in the 3rd or 4th round. Hope it's us.

NFL Mock Draft Simulator

I traded the 66th pick in the third round to the Raiders for
- 68
- 214
- 224
- 2026 Rd 4

31) Josh Conerly - OT, Oregon
63) Deon Walker - DT, Kentucky
68) Kaleb Johnson - RB, Iowa
95) Tate Ratledge - IOL, Georgia
132) Ricky White - WR, UNLV
214) Jordan Hancock - CB, Ohio State
224) Fadil Diggs - EDGE, Syracuse
256) Barryn Sorrell - EDGE, Texas

Probably should have looked for depth other than repeat EDGE guys at the end, but it seemed the value was there.

I’m really interested in Kaleb Johnson. Many here, including myself, are interested in Henderson but I wonder if he’s an every down back. Remember when we went with CEH, a quick shifty back, over Jonathan Taylor who’s proven to be significantly more capable? Are we setting ourselves up for a similar disappointment bc we get overly excited about speed an gadget play ability?

31 Colston Loveland TE | Michigan
63 Wyatt Milum OT | West Virginia
66 T.J. Sanders DL | South Carolina
95 Jared Ivey EDGE | Mississippi
132 Devin Neal RB | Kansas
256 Shemar James LB | Florida

Surprised that Loveland was available in this simulation. I didn't address CB, but with only 6 picks you can't hit everything and I took a (mostly) BPA approach while still trying to fill needs, i.e. if it was close I took a need, but didn't reach to do so.

31 Kenneth Grant DL | Michigan
63 Marcus Mbow IOL | Purdue
66 Wyatt Milum OT | West Virginia
95 Mason Taylor TE | LSU
132 Ollie Gordon II RB | Oklahoma State
256 Brandon Adams CB | UCF

I am the opposite.

I have very little interest in Johnson, who is already a big-back who isn't incredibly quick or fast. I don't think he translates well to the NFL at all, and his ability to be a 3-down back is significantly questioned.

Henderson has shown everything you could need in a 3-down back. He's fast, he catches the ball well, he has proven he can pass protect, and he has been a productive runner, too.

Iowa fan here. Love Johnson at Iowa, don’t want anything to do with him in the pros. Give me either Ohio State backs or Hampton. If they are not there I’d rather have Harvey or Gordon.

I wouldn't mind this draft, provided they address LT in FA or trade. Traded down from 95 to get some extra picks that I doubt would last, but who knows with these things.

31 Kenneth Grant DL | Michigan

63 TreVeyon Henderson RB | Ohio State

66 Trey Amos CB | Mississippi

106 Kevin Winston Jr. S | Penn State

125 Ashton Gillotte EDGE | Louisville

132 Earnest Greene OT | Georgia

184 Kyren Lacy WR | LSU

256 Moliki Matavao TE | UCLA

Holy shit, they have Hancock as a late 6th rounder? No way in hell is he going that late.

I have him with a 2nd round grade. Most outlets currently have him at least in the 4th round.

Did PFFs and got this....

31 OT Josh Conerly Jr Oregon
63 OT Donovan Jackson Ohio State
66 RB Kaleb Johnson Iowa
95 DE Ashton Gillotte Louisville

Hrmmm lol

DJ's left nut 02-19-2025 08:53 AM

I keep finding myself going RB in the back of the 2nd, Milum at the top of the 3rd and Walker at the back of the 3rd.

If someone like Zabel slides, I look at him in the 1st and then find myself looking LB or CB w/ that Milum pick. Been taking Gillotte a lot in the 4th.

But too many of these databases are still wonky. I mean I just had one where I got Loveland at the back of 1 (okay, possible but not likely), Burch at the back of 2 (same) and then Donovan Jackson at the top of 3, Walker at the back of 3 and Barrett Carter at the back of 4.

Any ONE of those things seems pretty possible. Maybe 2 of 'em. But every last one of those guys feels like a slide and I just don't see that happening across the board like that.

Just feels like there's a lot to sort out yet before these boards have much meaning.

Dunerdr 02-19-2025 09:15 AM

I cant take the simulators too serious until at least post combine. Too many hard opinions on the built in boards in my opinion. Some snuck in homer takes lol.

I agree, prefer both Ohio St RBs, althought they aren't classic "Reid offense" types. I don't know who is in this draft, but my hunch is they have identified their guy and will surprise us in the 4th or 5th with a guy few of knows much about.
