I don’t know what they cooking in kc but we sure do bring in a lot of humble superstars who do this shit all the time when the cameras aren’t rolling. It’s pretty amazing when one of these people happens to be the biggest international superstar.

Decades ago I used to know people who worked closely with Kurt Warner. They were devastated when he was traded. Heard the same about grant wistrom. Talk to enough community leaders and you figure out real quick who the real ones are. The public didn’t know even a fraction of the good deeds these guys did for their communities and they liked it that way

I went to high school with Grant Wistrom. He was the biggest prick imaginable. Case in point, after he retires, Webb City decides that the Cardinal stadium should switch to turf. He declares publicly that he will pay for it. Privately the stadium will be renamed Grant Wistrom Stadium. They told him to **** off and funded it with bonds. To add insult to injury, they named a one block street on the other side of the high school Wistrom Road. After he faded away so went the street.

That's just so awesome. She spreads joy and positivity wherever she goes.

Positive vibes

Also, it’s the day before her birthday, and she chose to spend it in KC at a children’s hospital, when she could be anywhere in the world doing anything she wants.

Oh, and she’s only 4 days removed from completing a two-year-long international tour that’s she’s probably exhausted from. With a cool $2B to show from it.

But she was here.

Oh wow that’s crazy. That wasn’t what I had heard. Maybe it was just specific to the projects I was working on at the time. That’s too bad.

I lived in St. Louis and was in my young 20s during Wistrom's tenure there. I would see him out and about at all the popular hotspots. Always seemed like a giant douche. It's almost absurd the amount of times I ran into him at a bar or casino.

Like kids faces or nurses?

Thank you Travis for bringing her to KC! Without him we'd never have this power house of a woman.

My niece is in one of those posts. Not gonna say which one. Very proud of her work with these kids.

Very nice. I think Travis picked a good one.

Gravedigger 12-13-2024 02:08 PM

Pretty awesome that right after her tour ends to fit this in right in time for the holidays. If it were one of my kids they would’ve been through the roof.

My son went to the pro bowl through Make a Wish about twenty years ago. All of the kids got to go to the AFC and NFC practices and got to meet all of the players and get autographs. I can’t begin to tell you how much it means to a sick child to meet athletes or other famous people. A little kindness can mean so much. All of the players except Tomlinson were super nice

That sucks. I always liked Tomlinson.

Mike Jones (The Tackle) became the head coach of the local HBC here in town where my dad graduated. In 2015 when dad was pretty far down the brain cancer route I shot Jones an email and asked if my dad could meet him. Dad was a huge St. Louis Rams fan as well.

He wrote back and had a medical issue of his own he was dealing with but promised he would. About 3 or 4 months later I get a call that he had time on day A or day B and he said he'd come by to the house. He did. He could have just stopped by, shook hands, and went on his way but he hung out for like an hour and half BS'ing and answering questions. Really good guy.

So my son was thirteen at the time and bought an LT jersey and a Peyton Manning jersey to get autographs . Manning must have spent 10 minutes with Nick . He was so nice we could never root against him again. LT looked like I pissed in his mouth when Nick asked him to sign the jersey. He did , with a big pouty puss on. Considering Nick had almost died twice by that time I thought that was pretty shitty.
