Nothing.

But fix the QB situation and he'd still do nothing.

When the QB sucks, it's hard to tell if you have the right guy. I don't think it's that hard to tell if you have the wrong one.

Pierce was overmatched from the jump. And there's no better place for that to be proven than the division with Reid, Payton and Harbaugh.

The latter 2 aren't in the same class as Reid, but Pierce isn't in the same class as them either.

There are too many good coordinators out there to stick with a guy who's ceiling as a HC is mediocre. When Dennis Allen is the sort of guy you might end up as someday, I just don't know what the point in keeping you around is.

I honestly don't know how you break the door down as a defensive-minded HC anymore. You have to be successful immediately to get the sort of buy-in that would be necessary to build a program that way.

DeMeco Ryans is the only guy you can point to as a guy who really got a quick turnaround and seemed to have bought himself some time. But man, if they go one and done and then Stroud continues to spin his wheels next season, they may move on from him as well.

If you can point to whiz bang offensive shit you do, you can buy yourself some time (see that ridiculous frontrunning fraud, Mike McDaniel). But these defense first CEO style coaches have to point to their record and it had better be good in a hurry.

I mean why not? They're paying him either way...

How many years left on that contract? Gotta be 3-4. Might as well put him to work...

That’s what happens when you let a dumbass like Maxx Crosby hire the coach

I mean if Tom Brady is making the call why not Josh McDaniels?

I bet he'll catch on as someone's DC.

He gave them a "bounce" when McDaniels was canned but he was in so far over his head it was obvious hes not HC material. Better as a LB position coach.

I think Brady has Mark Davis ear. Time will tell if Telesco and Brady are on the same page going forward but anything is better than Mark Davis having much input.

Well that's an improvement.

They're not doing anything unless they draft/develop a QB.

ChiefsCountry 01-07-2025 04:36 PM

Pierce also got Arizona State on probation

I think Gruden just got hired by Barstool sports.

However, he would be a vast upgrade over what they've had since he left. When he was HC, at least LVR was trending in the right direction. Since he resigned, LVR's HC situation has been a tire fire.

Lou Anarumo seems like the perfect fit for the Raiders.

Kman34 01-07-2025 05:56 PM

He shouldn’t have been hired to begin with.. Rode the coattails of a win against us on a day where we weren’t interested on Christmas…

They should hire him to be their DC immediately. Thank god the Chargers or Broncos won't get their hands on him. Not sure I could take that.

Exactly why we hired Crennel, if I recall correctly.

I can't see Vrabel passing up the Patriots job.
