They get every damn tax break in the world and still **** over the community just so 80 thousand residents have a place to watch a game 8 times a year.

Nah, the alternative is becoming St. Louis or Oakland. The investment far exceeds the benefit to most cities. Imagine KC without the Chiefs...

I went to the Chiefs/Chargers at So-Fi this fall, hated the feel of that "plush" stadium.

All of those things literally suck everywhere. Paying for stadiums has nothing to do with it.

^this^ the ancillary benefits of having a major league sports town is many times the difference between growing or dying. It's not like these billionaires aren't footing 2/3's or so of the costs now, and as HTIS say, this has little to do with the management of the city who's funding should adequately keep infrastructure dependable and operational. This is usually done in an additional sales tax in addition to the operational taxes for the city's budget. No stadium no additional tax.
