They might need to play Arthur more for his athleticism over zbo.

KC_Connection 04-22-2013 11:24 PM

Chris Paul, the finisher.

-King- 04-22-2013 11:26 PM

That jump ball alignment made no sense for either team.

It was odd.

Does Memphis have anybody that can create half court offense now that Gay is gone? Figured situations like this one coming up would be a major problem.

-King- 04-22-2013 11:28 PM

Good execution.

KC_Connection 04-22-2013 11:29 PM

Good play Conley. But Chris Paul should end this one here.

It's been Conley in the regular season, although they can still run through Gasol as well.

-King- 04-22-2013 11:30 PM

Chris Paul with the game winner.

Not sure how Arthur isn't coming over to help sooner. Nobody else was taking that shot but Paul.

KC_Connection 04-22-2013 11:31 PM

And so he did. One of the best finishers there is.

Oh, that's why Arthur didn't help....Griffin literally grabbed him.

-King- 04-22-2013 11:31 PM

Man, that was some great defense too. Tony Allen did all he could.

AdumbGuy 04-22-2013 11:32 PM

damn. good shot. ****er

KevB 04-22-2013 11:32 PM

23 of 34 from the line for the Griz

okcchief 04-22-2013 11:33 PM

That was a hell of a shot, but Kev is right. Griffin ****ing held him. The Clippers are really into the cheap shit.

-King- 04-22-2013 11:33 PM

Time for a tip in.

Was being held back it appears. He still got his arm out there and may have even fouled Paul trying to block that. Just a difficult shot to win, it's what the guy does.

okcchief 04-22-2013 11:35 PM

I'll be honest though. All eyes are on the ball so it was a smart play.

I want to like them. Paul is a hell of a player. Griffin is fun to watch. Jamal is a freak show with his handles. But all the other BS just makes me hate them.

Oh, they're never going to call that. If I'm Arthur, I'm going to make a display of it though. You know Griffin would have.

That stuff happens all the time in basketball, especially in those situations.

KevB 04-22-2013 11:37 PM

If Conley and Allen keep that play up, I have some hope. The fact that Lamar Odom was playing crunch time minutes tonight should give every other team hope as well.

It was even worse last year when they had Reggie Evans. I saw Paul play a lot his first 2 years. He's a hell of a player, but he and the Clips do a lot of little things that are just annoying. I hope Memphis comes back, but I think that was the death nail. Hell of a play, and can't blame them if it works.

I agree. Shit like that isn't going to get called at the end of the game. He made the shot, and deserve the W.

KevB 04-22-2013 11:42 PM

Watching again, and of course easy for me to say, but you have to make Paul go left if you're Allen

The D was pretty solid, but that's obviously the shot Paul wanted.

okcchief 04-22-2013 11:44 PM

At least it was an entertaining game.

Night fellas

Dude, death knell.

KC_Connection 04-23-2013 12:00 AM

Death nail might be pretty apt too, though. Memphis definitely needs to win both at home now to stand any real chance (which they can certainly do, but it will be tough).

Clips have won 9 of 13, and 3 in a row in Memphis. For Griz to win series, will have to win 4 out of 5. I'll root for my team, but.....

You learn something new everyday. I suppose I've never seen it spelt out I guess.

I picture more of a nail being slammed through their hearts or coffin so my way works too :)

The Thunder/Spurs was the exact same way last year before the Thunder reeled off 4 in a row, and the Spurs had a 20 game win streak overall as well. Win 2 at home and the pressure is back on them. Like I said, I thought LA would win all along, but they usually play close games so it wouldn't shock me if the tide turned.

okcchief 04-23-2013 08:57 AM

Death Nail is actually on urban dictionary as a combo of death knell and nail in the coffin. I always thought of it as a nail in the coffin.

So don't come at me hard! I'm from the streets yo!

:)

Back and forth runs in this Celtics/Knicks game. One team goes up by 7, then loses the lead and the other team goes up by 7.

dirk digler 04-23-2013 07:50 PM

Celtics aren't going to win this game. Another 2nd half of suckage

Well, nevermind. Celtics ran out of gas.

AdumbGuy 04-23-2013 08:06 PM

This is sad, BOS/NY would be competitive if Rondo wasn't hurt

AdumbGuy 04-23-2013 08:07 PM

On the other hand. **** KG

dirk digler 04-23-2013 08:43 PM

The Celtics just ran out of gas. They may win 1 game but that will be about it.

Al Bundy 04-23-2013 08:44 PM

71 points in an NBA game? Good god that is pathetic.

Al Bundy 04-23-2013 08:47 PM

No Faried starting for Denver.

Hammock Parties 04-23-2013 09:03 PM

Yeah... it's the 1st round. When literally half the team in the league make the playoffs, the 1st round will suck.

Atleast there are a couple series that are good though, like this GS/DEN series.

KC_Connection 04-23-2013 09:21 PM

Other than a few series (this year it should be LAC/MEM and DEN/GS), the first round is rarely that good. The dominant teams from the regular season tend to dominate. Of course, you get your rare exception like when GState beat Dallas in the 1-8 matchup, but other than that, not so much.

Actually it has been pretty good since the Mavs aren't around to stink it up

KC_Connection 04-23-2013 10:36 PM

Golden State is making like every shot.

Al Bundy 04-23-2013 10:38 PM

Dubs putting on a show in Denver.

Al Bundy 04-23-2013 10:58 PM

Refs doing everything they can to help the Nuggets, missed 3 straight and 1's.

okcchief 04-23-2013 11:11 PM

I don't know if Golden State can maintain, but their home crowd will be nuts after the split. Denver just made it really hard on themselves.

Al Bundy 04-23-2013 11:12 PM

Great job by Golden State tonight, great to see the Broncos fans head to the exits.

-King- 04-23-2013 11:12 PM

Steph Curry might be the best pure scorer after KD.

KC_Connection 04-23-2013 11:12 PM

51 for 79 from the field. Denver might want to play a bit of defense next time.

He's the best shooter in the league IMO. I would put Durant and Carmello ahead of him as far as all around scorer though.

KC_Connection 04-23-2013 11:30 PM

Best shooting percentage in a playoff game since 1991 Jazz tonight.

when they get hot, there is nothing you can do. They did that shit against the Lakers not to long ago, when they are on, ya just enjoy it as a fan thats all you can do.

Well...they could contest a few more of those shots than they did. GS made a ridiculous amount of shots but most of them were open looks.

Of course, Denver is not exactly known for their D (and neither are the 2012-2013 Lakers for that matter).

A LOT of them were Denver getting to the lane to protect against open drives to the basket. Leaving everyone but Curry open from 10 feet and beyond.

okcchief 04-24-2013 05:26 PM

Good move by McHale going small knowing Brooks won't change his lineup regardless. Obviously, they want to draw Ibaka out of the paint. Should have started Ibaka at center and played Jackson, Martin or Liggins instead of Perk. Why change your lineup based on matchups though? That's just silly. Following the Miami play book, but fortunately don't have the same talent.

okcchief 04-24-2013 06:16 PM

It's a good thing KD is going off because Brooks is getting completely raped. I don't know how many times Perkins needs to turn it over before you decide he's a liability tonight.

-King- 04-24-2013 07:25 PM

3 point game with 5 to go.

okcchief 04-24-2013 07:29 PM

We deserve to lose this game.

-King- 04-24-2013 07:29 PM

Tie game now. OKC was up by 15 with like 8 to go. 17-2 run by Houston.

Harden's 31 and 10 aren't hurting either.

KC_Connection 04-24-2013 07:34 PM

Harden isn't even shooting well this game and they're still in it. Surprising.

That's saying something. McHale is a horrible coach, IMO.

Brooks blind spot with Perkins is the strangest I've ever seen with a coach and player.

I thought he would at least be able to hang with McHale and DelNegro.

Chandler Parsons jacking up and missing a lot today. That may seal it.

Perkins and Fisher. Blind spot is a good way to put it. His lineup management is infuriating.

-King- 04-24-2013 07:41 PM

LMAO Blatant foul by Perkins there.

KevB 04-24-2013 07:41 PM
