On a side note at my job we did work for music labels.

Lil' bow wow put out a new DVD and representatives were going to be there in a few days. We were told in meetings several times we were to refer the artist as "Bow Wow", not Lil' Bow Wow when they were here. He was changing his image type of thing, not a lil' boy anymore. The rapper had grown up.

The whole thing was stupid/funny and we joked about it a lot. We had to have our game face on when they showed up, trying not to smirk or laugh all the while, heh.

SR, have you ever heard of Anticon?

Simply Red 03-19-2013 12:34 AM

I love the African American culture - they pioneer a lot of styles, even Tim Tebow had a faux hawk, so did Kevin Durant - and KD can rap too.

No sir - but i'm going to explore them now that you've mentioned them. It's funny how much more you all are influenced by west coast hip hop, in KC. You don't hear a lot of that here - it's all dirty south. and then there are the huge hits that land on the west coast and east coast...

Also, you live in Atlanta, right? You know who rittz is? His album, white Jesus, may be the greatest thing I have ever heard.

Simply Red 03-19-2013 12:43 AM

one of the artists sounded an awfully lot like Slum Village.

there is a multitude of local hip hop artists here - like droves of them - a few live here in town close to me. I just don't know who they are - but they drive Lambo's and Ferrari's and things. Rap has gotten too clouded for me - I still like a track or two per year - but really I just try to find instrumental stuff - it's sort of hard to find - I love Dj Krush, Spooky, and some DJ Shadow, but that genre was really 'shorted/slighted' back around 96ish - just either rappers or break or d and b dj's - no real instrumental Dj's - Like i could count them on one hand ( for the world's tally )

Wow, what utter shit.

Another rapper rhyming about being a rapper and how awesome his life is as a rapper.

Just an utter waste of bandwidth, electricity and airwaves.

He did manage to rhyme "out" with "out," though.

Amazing job!

Just kidding. It's an uninspired, boring, stupid song produced by a talentless hack.

You have obviously never had sizzurp. Prometh is the upper, codeine is the downer.

Melt some jolly ranchers in a 2L of Mountain Dew, put a couple shots of syrup and I goddamn guarantee you will find yourself leanin.

Back in my younger days we used to do that. Not anymore.

My preferred recipe just called for a 16oz. glass of cranberry juice, a 1/2 lime juiced in, and 1 shot of lean. Tasted just like a purple hooter.

I'll admit I liked me some lean. But it is a very slippery slope with it and can bite you in the ass in a heartbeat. Not recommended at all.

Interesting, I never knew that this was what people did. How do you melt jolly ranchers into the mountain dew? It sounds like that would taste just terrible. Plus I hate jolly ranchers and mountain dew, and cough syrup, so that doesn't help.

ThatRaceCardGuy 03-19-2013 08:05 AM

I did lean a few times.. It's like a warm blanket on a cold day lol.. Tried it three times back in the 90s..went well with S. U. C, ESG, UGK, and Tru in the trunk lol

Got to see Bun B last week at SXSW.

Love me some UGK.

I'm a recovering opioid addict dude lol. I've had syrup before. It's good. It's fun. But when you have to take so much of it that you overdose, why not just get something stronger? I'm taking into account the fact that he's supremely rich and famous and could get whatever he wanted instantly.

Man, I loved that song and that entire mixtape was off the chain. That was really the last Wiz I listened to. Since then, he's just been lame.. But I did listen to his latest album, O.N.I.F.C, on a road trip this past weekend. The first two songs were super smooth; you should give them a listen if you like Mezmorized.

Well since this has turned into a rap discussion... what are your guys thoughts on Tech N9ne? I've been a fan of him since Absolute Power. Went to a show of his when I attended Northwest and ended up getting laid by a beautiful blonde that night :)

So I may be a little biased, but he has the best flow of anyone out there. And it's not all guns and shit. Mostly about partying and Tech fighting with inner struggles.

Why not take something stronger? Because 95% of the population doesn't need to swallow, snort or smoke a concoction of damnitalls, morphine and oxys to feel like they have recieved a buzz.

Your question is akin to asking a pot head. Why waste your money on pot, when cocaine is stronger? Doont kneed.
