I will have the "backup" going and I will be streaming the local pregame shows too starting at 9:30am.

Deberg_1990 10-22-2006 08:54 AM

Is this up and running today?? First time ive needed it..

DaFace 10-22-2006 08:56 AM

The primary stream is officially down. My computer crashed or something, so I can't access it remotely to start the stream up. :(

C-Mac's your man today.

I'm guessing he doesn't have it on just yet. SOP's errors are all weird. When the stream's not running, you sometimes get the "invalid username or password" error. There's nothing wrong on your end.

C-Mac 10-22-2006 09:18 AM

I have the "backup" going now and streaming the pregame shows from KC.

2112 10-22-2006 09:25 AM

I have a question..how do you get the stream to work??

do you download and run the SOP..or save???I only did live streaming through mlb.com once...

help

Wasn't able to find any chat software that I liked and ran out of time. Anyone with suggestions on software would be helpful at this point.

After you have downloaded the sop program, install it on your computer. Open the program up, log in as anonymous, and then COPY AND PASTE the address from above into the address bar in the SOP program.

Can anyone tell me how to find if the Chiefs/Chargers game can be viewed? I have SOPCast and TVU, but I do not know how to look for the listings for the channels. I also have TVants.

grazie

It's always on sopcast.

It might be on TVU as well because it comes out of San Francisco, but it's on Sopcast no matter what.

mylittlepony 10-22-2006 10:23 AM

While Im very gratefull there seems to be a "New Disc Format" box in the middle of the screen? What is that about? And will the kind person sending it, fix that before the start of the game?

The Red Sea 10-22-2006 11:12 AM

Could somebody possibly put the direct link to the channel on sopcast please.

I'm working on my house..running up to the pc looking randomly thru the sopcast list is driving me mad.

THX in advance

DaFace 10-22-2006 11:14 AM

It's in the thread starter, where it's always been.

Deberg_1990 10-22-2006 11:38 AM

I had to stop....it was just too choppy for me. I went to the KCFX audio stream. But thanks anyways guys!!

JBucc 10-22-2006 11:42 AM

Yeah it's choppy as hell. Maybe you could lower the bitrate or whatever?

will someone post the link to the other audio stream.. having trouble with the one on kcfx.. as usual. the other one worked fine

the Talking Can 10-22-2006 12:00 PM

listen on the radio, use SOPcast as a video recap...

after I hear it "live" I get to see it about 30secs later....even if a bit choppy

luv 10-22-2006 12:12 PM

WTF is up with the chat today?

SLAG 10-29-2006 03:09 AM

Bump a Roo!!11!!

DaFace 10-29-2006 08:09 AM

The primary stream should be up right now, technically, though it will be on the oh-so-exciting Dish Network logo for a couple hours still. It's supposed to auto-tune at 10am, but I've never tried it before. If it doesn't, or if it ends up on the right channel, it should be fixed via my human remote control by game time.

C-Mac 10-29-2006 09:23 AM

I will have the local KC Pregame Shows showing on the "Backup" Sopcast stream starting at 9:30am.

DaFace 10-29-2006 10:06 AM

The good news: I managed to get the primary stream up and running remotely. :thumb:

The bad news: Fox in Topkea is showing some goofy infomercial for an oldies CD until 11. C-Mac's stream will be a better option until then.

Deberg_1990 10-29-2006 10:19 AM

I was just able to succefully connect to both channels.

The primary channel (DaFace's) runs alot smoother for some reason?

Let me know if it clears up, I may have to bump the rate down a bit.

LocoChiefsFan 10-29-2006 10:38 AM

O I C, thanks. I was going to have to go to the local sports bar to watch it. I didn't want to have to leave the house today, lol. You rock!! The primary says Chiefs vs. Seahawks, but is playing some informercial. Is it on after the informercial?

No, I need the input because I cant view it outside my local server.

mylittlepony 10-29-2006 10:58 AM

C-Mac thank you very much. I can give as much feedback as Im able to see. Both have a download on about 30kb/s but the upload is the thing thats different I get 140kb/s on the first one and 0kb/s on the backup. I dont know if this means anything to you guys but thats the only thing I can spot thats a difference.

Actually, that probably doesn't mean anything. The "upload" speed is the speed at which you are sending out information to others online. The primary stream will probably max out your upload speed, because it's been listed on a national website and probably has TONS of people on it. The "backup" stream probably doesn't have as many people on it, so you probably won't be uploading very much.

LocoChiefsFan 10-29-2006 11:03 AM

I wish it was a informercial on oldies music. It's some orthopedic foot thing. It's cool. I know when it comes down to it, we'll be seeing the game.

mylittlepony 10-29-2006 11:03 AM

You guys are saving me some money in stomach medecine and regain. I used to watch the games on NFL.com team stats page. You know the opponents have the ball. You are waiting for the playchart to update with a 3rd and out or something and that horrible Wav file (touchdown.wav) plays (always before the playchart updates) and you know someone on the chiefs D choked. I swear even when the chiefs score the touchdown.wav makes me cringe.

Aha, I see thank you very much for the explination. My upload is ushually 800kb/s to the US, 28d/10u mbit/s connection. One of the perks of living in Sweden. :)

Whoa...that's awesome. I wish I had that kind of upload pipe. It sucks to have to broadcast this stuff at such low bitrates, but it's better than nothing!

So, how did you get into the Chiefs in Sweden? Are you U.S. born, or is there some other explanation?

mylittlepony 10-29-2006 11:17 AM

Nah, we had the NFL coverage over a decade ago (just came back on tv last year). I used to love watching it with my dad. Joe Montana was my absolute favourite player. And he was a Chief back then. After one game against Denver when the Chiefs came from behind on the final drive. My dad got me a Joe Montana jersey and I was hooked. I've been trying to get atleast a couple of games on video every year since then. A couple of years ago with the p2p shares it got alot easier. Now I can watch them live through streams. And against Pittsburg I got to see the Chiefs live on Swedish-TV for the first time in a decade (to bad it was such a bad game).

In other news, there are currently 297 people on the "main" stream.

mrub4 10-29-2006 02:45 PM

It's on Ch 30321 or something like that on TVU, look for the St Louis Rams channel in the list. It's really choppy though

C-Mac 10-29-2006 03:16 PM

The problem must be with Sopcast, I have reset "Backup" with the Colts Broncos.

DaFace 10-29-2006 04:32 PM

Ouch...sorry about that guys. I can't check the status from here (I'm not at home). Hope everyone found another way of watching the game. :(

bumpity bump bump

I'm actually home this week! For the first time in a month, I'll get to watch a game LIVE. I'm pumped.

Primary stream's going on some NFL Network goodness. It'll switch over for pregame at 11.

Mr. DaFace, the stream isn't working for me. The main one gives me a black screen after buffering for a lengthy time - no audio. The backup stream buffers for a long time during the connection to sopcast.

I've restarted sopcast several times, rebooted, kicked the dog, and slapped myself. Any other ideas?

FAX

DaFace 11-05-2006 11:15 AM

I have no idea why you constantly have problems, FAX. There are currently 45 people on the stream, presumably working fine.
