That's 2.0.0.a1 (alpha 1). It's certainly not feature complete yet, and the Ignore Words don't do anything. However, it will give you a feel for the upcoming interface and it corrects the problem of not being able to ignore users with spaces in their names. It *IS* feature complete to 1.x and does work.

v2 does away with the two "User Script Commands" for configuration and moves to a simple config screen which is accessed directly from the ChiefsPlanet menu at the top of your screen. Right there, next to the "Search" button. Click where it says "CPIggy".

Enjoy. :)

You just did, LOL.

Pretty impressive, Herp.

I fully expect we've seen the last of the 'ban' threads since now there is absolutely NO reason to read someone if you don't want to.

Well, that choice has ALWAYS existed but for some it's been an impossible concept to grasp thus your 'fix' will help those struggling with self control issues.

Good job.

One thing I noticed is that it doesn't remove all of the threads started by the users on your ignore list. I noticed one of each in the main forum and DC.

Yeah. The ChiefsPlanet DOM changes the row signature if the thread has one of those stupid icons. I have to fix that.

Cool, I was hoping it wasn't just me. It's not a big deal, this is still a kick ass ignore feature.

Jesus-Pete people. How many different f**king links do you guys use?

It only operates on pages that meet a certain "mask". Right now that is:

http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/*
http://chiefsplanet.com/BB/*

I'll try and remember to add "http://67.18.68.69/BB/*" to the list.

I hit the direct IP because every couple years Kyle forgets to re-up the domain name or something gets jacked up in DNS.

All versions do, but there's some bug that I'm going to try and work out tonight where the occasional thread will sneak through.

I had that problem until I cleared out my original ignore list accessible through the tools menu. Try that.

Well, some of them work, some don't...

For example, I placed jaz on it to see if it would erase his 100,000 threads in dc - they are all there, so are all of his posts. I picked him because he's easy to find.

What do you think?

The instructions clearly state that you must uninstall the old version first. Otherwise the two of them will compete and screw things up.

You also have to be aware of capitalization for it to work. You would have to place jAZ on CPiggy, not jaz or JAZ or Jaz. It is case sensitive, I learned that with Goat boy..

Alpha 2 is now available. It:

* improves speed
* adds better error trapping with warning dialogs and diagnostic messages
* fixes the problem with some threads still being displayed
* makes user names case-insensitive

It will still show up as Alpha 1, I'm not going to rebrand it until we get into Beta and that's probably a ways out.

Alpha 3 is now up and available. This version has update checking. Automatic daily update checks are disabled by default. Enable automatic update or manually check for updates via the control center.

Install from http://userscripts.org/scripts/source/12975.user.js

Enjoy.

Yeah, the DOM completely changes from one mode to the other. I could make it work if the powers that be around here id'd their divs, but they don't, so I can't without basically writing another version of CPIggy. I might look at that more, not sure.

Simplex3 10-22-2007 10:23 PM

Alpha 4 is available. For some reason the update script likes to use a cached copy of the html update page, meaning that it won't actually notice when it's time to upgrade. I've changed the update page to a .php page and in my limited testing here at the house it appears to be working better.

So, go on over to http://userscripts.org/scripts/source/12975.user.js and upgrade.

I finished pulling most of the nasty hacks out and the script now runs 10x faster on average than Alpha3, it's about 25x faster than the first version and has a lot more functionality.

I've also added the ability to turn the Show/Hide links on or off.

Do you suck?

You have to spell their names correctly, it is case-sensitive. It has to be "GOATSE", not "Goatse". Also, make sure they're each on their own line, just like in the screenshot above. Last, it only works in full-featured mode right now.

You might try removing CPIggy and reinstalling it. Just be sure you check the box to "remove settings" when you do it, since I think this is a settings corruption problem but I haven't had a machine experience it that I have access to.

Make sure you copy down your iggy list before you do that.

Alpha 5 Available

Now places an icon beside the name of users you aren't ignoring that allows you to click and add them automatically. There are several bug fixes rolled up to this point, so if you haven't upgraded for a while please do. This version is very fast and very stable.

Also, I highly recommend turning on automatic update checking. It comes disabled by default for the privacy nuts since it does have to check a remote server to get the current version so that it can compare itself and see if it's out of date. It doesn't send any information, it only receives the current version number. If it's out of date it will present you with a window letting you know and a link to install the latest version from userscripts.org.

Enjoy.

Currently on the to do list:

* Add an option for removing DC from the menu and the forum listing.
* Correct an oversight were iggd posts and quotes show up when you're posting a reply.

I'm considering a second plugin to try and replace the craptacular editor that we currently have, but right now that's a mere gleam in my eye.

My guess is that you're experiencing the settings corruption problem. Do me a favor and take a screenshot of this:

1. Open a new Firefox window
2. Browse to "about:config"
3. In the "Filter" box type "grease"
4. Grab a screenshot of that and post it here

After you do that the only work around I've found so far is to make a copy of your iggy list, then do this:

1. Go to Tools->Greasemonkey->Manage User Scripts
2. Click on the CPIggy2 Alpha 1 script
3. Check the box for "Also uninstall associated preferences"
4. Click "Uninstall"
5. Reinstall CPIggy

Unless you also remove the associated preferences it won't work.

You can take a screenshot by pressing "Shift"->"Print Screen" on the keyboard, opening Paint, and then hitting "CTRL"->"V"
