You just did, LOL. |
Pretty impressive, Herp.
I fully expect we've seen the last of the 'ban' threads since now there is absolutely NO reason to read someone if you don't want to. Well, that choice has ALWAYS existed but for some it's been an impossible concept to grasp thus your 'fix' will help those struggling with self control issues. Good job. |
I fully expect there's no reason for Dense to continue posting since there's no reason for anybody to read her.
|
not true, I don't have anyone on ignore..
|
Why can I not see the CPiggy option in the dropdown?

One thing I noticed is that it doesn't remove all of the threads started by the users on your ignore list. I noticed one of each in the main forum and DC.

Cool, I was hoping it wasn't just me. It's not a big deal, this is still a kick ass ignore feature. |

Thanks Simplex, never had the need to switch over to Firefox, now I do.
|
Strange. It seems that because I hit 67.18.68.69/BB that menu option isn't there but when I hit the domain name it works.
|

It only operates on pages that meet a certain "mask". Right now that is: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/* http://chiefsplanet.com/BB/* I'll try and remember to add "http://67.18.68.69/BB/*" to the list. :shake: |
I hit the direct IP because every couple years Kyle forgets to re-up the domain name or something gets jacked up in DNS.

LMAO |
Does this also ignore threads started by the ones you want to ignore?

This is great. It sure did a great job cleaning up the DC. It's almost worth going in there to see what's going on. Almost!!!!!!
|
Hey Simplex, I don't have the "automatically check for updates" thing on my piggy page. It's working OK, but did I do something wrong?
|
Quote:
|
Well that's messed up - I 'think' I followed the instructions to the letter, yet every person on my ignore list still shows up, posts, everything
|

For example, I placed jaz on it to see if it would erase his 100,000 threads in dc - they are all there, so are all of his posts. I picked him because he's easy to find. What do you think? |

I had to make sure I got rid of previous versions. I haven't had a problem since. So I guess that might be an issue.

Alpha 2 is now available. It: * improves speed * adds better error trapping with warning dialogs and diagnostic messages * fixes the problem with some threads still being displayed * makes user names case-insensitive It will still show up as Alpha 1, I'm not going to rebrand it until we get into Beta and that's probably a ways out. |
Now I have the "automatically check for updates" thing. :thumb:
|
Um ... if I put Mr. Simplex3 on CPiggy, how will I get new updates and stuff?

Long are the days of yesterday when this wasn't needed for the planet............
It's a nice tool for those who wish to use it....... As for me, I don't need it, I can easily overlook / ignore whomever I choose to . |

Dude, this is the best thing evar!!! The Planet, it's...it's empty! Seriously, great job simplex3, thanks! |

Alpha 3 is now up and available. This version has update checking. Automatic daily update checks are disabled by default. Enable automatic update or manually check for updates via the control center. Install from http://userscripts.org/scripts/source/12975.user.js Enjoy. |
When I chose manual update it told me there are none available. I hadn't yet upgraded to Alpha 3.

I've tried to upgrade to the latest release and now the User Script Commands menu option is always grayed out.
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling Grease Monkey, clearing cookies, everything and I still can't get it to work. |

Just installed it. It works great!
|
Me too. Great work, Simplex. This rocks.
|
Just a note, the CPiggy menu thing doesn't show up in at work mode. I have to switch to regular to see it.

Alpha 4 is available. For some reason the update script likes to use a cached copy of the html update page, meaning that it won't actually notice when it's time to upgrade. I've changed the update page to a .php page and in my limited testing here at the house it appears to be working better.
So, go on over to http://userscripts.org/scripts/source/12975.user.js and upgrade. I finished pulling most of the nasty hacks out and the script now runs 10x faster on average than Alpha3, it's about 25x faster than the first version and has a lot more functionality. I've also added the ability to turn the Show/Hide links on or off. |

I'm testing it out, and still see the ignored users :cuss: :banghead:

You have to spell their names correctly, it is case-sensitive. It has to be "GOATSE", not "Goatse". Also, make sure they're each on their own line, just like in the screenshot above. Last, it only works in full-featured mode right now. |

Well, it works now so nevermind :thumb: |

Hmmmm.....
Just installed on my desktop this morning, and everything was fine until about 30 minutes ago. Suggestions? |

Make sure you copy down your iggy list before you do that. |

Thanks. |
:hmmm: not sure how I got singled out to be on that list. Thanks for the free promotion, I guess.

Alpha 5 Available
Now places an icon beside the name of users you aren't ignoring that allows you to click and add them automatically. There are several bug fixes rolled up to this point, so if you haven't upgraded for a while please do. This version is very fast and very stable. Also, I highly recommend turning on automatic update checking. It comes disabled by default for the privacy nuts since it does have to check a remote server to get the current version so that it can compare itself and see if it's out of date. It doesn't send any information, it only receives the current version number. If it's out of date it will present you with a window letting you know and a link to install the latest version from userscripts.org. Enjoy. Currently on the to do list: * Add an option for removing DC from the menu and the forum listing. * Correct an oversight were iggd posts and quotes show up when you're posting a reply. I'm considering a second plugin to try and replace the craptacular editor that we currently have, but right now that's a mere gleam in my eye. |
There seems to be a bug in the system
|
Simplex, the new patch worked, but all of a sudden, the members on my list show up with their posts' and the add user option next to the avatar isn't there.

1. Open a new Firefox window 2. Browse to "about:config" 3. In the "Filter" box type "grease" 4. Grab a screenshot of that and post it here After you do that the only work around I've found so far is to make a copy of your iggy list, then do this: 1. Go to Tools->Greasemonkey->Manage User Scripts 2. Click on the CPIggy2 Alpha 1 script 3. Check the box for "Also uninstall associated preferences" 4. Click "Uninstall" 5. Reinstall CPIggy |

This rocks! :thumb: |

I've got the about:config up, but don't know how to take a screenshot. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled CPiggy and it still doesn't work for me. |
Quote:
You can take a screenshot by pressing "Shift"->"Print Screen" on the keyboard, opening Paint, and then hitting "CTRL"->"V" |
All better now

this is a pretty sweet little toy, good work
|
If it's not a huge amount of work, would you mind making the little "ignore icon" an option? I'm sure many people will like the feature, but I'd rather just add people via the list.
Keep up the good work! |
