You simply cannot hit in that bunker at 10 and expect to make par more than 1/10 times.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-13-2008 02:47 PM

Immelman with a pure over the top move on 9.

keg in kc 04-13-2008 03:17 PM

Guess Tiger wants to make this interesting after all.

kstater 04-13-2008 03:17 PM

That's a Cheer that will strike fear into opponents.

OnTheWarpath15 04-13-2008 03:18 PM

Hopefully that lights a fire under his ass.

keg in kc 04-13-2008 03:19 PM

lmao Now that's a sigh of relief

BWillie 04-13-2008 03:21 PM

Immellman triple bogey anytime now

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-13-2008 03:30 PM

Tiger hits a huge push on 13 after Flesch rinses his ball on 12.

And he is in jail with no possibility for parole.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-13-2008 03:32 PM

Wow. What a bail out by Immelman. If ever there was a "don't hit a pull hook" swing, that was it.

kstater 04-13-2008 03:34 PM

Going to be a tricky chip with that drain tile there. Tiger going to be lucky to advance it 50 yards up the fairway here.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-13-2008 03:34 PM

I'm waiting for a rules official to call that tree a temporally immoveable obstruction and give Tiger a drop.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-13-2008 03:36 PM

Actually, this would be the perfect time to carry a one-iron. You could lay it wide open and hit a huge looping cut around that tree, advance it way down the fairway, and if thunderstorms break out, hold the sumbitch over your head.

kstater 04-13-2008 03:36 PM

Tiger proves me wrong yet again. Excellent out from there.

keg in kc 04-13-2008 03:38 PM

I don't think I'll be trying Tiger's shot there next weekend.

OnTheWarpath15 04-13-2008 03:40 PM

Snedeker continues to throw up all over himself.

It's easier than you think. It's similar to hitting a flop shot in that you set your wrists really soon and slam the club down really hard into the back of the ball.

keg in kc 04-13-2008 03:41 PM

Holy shit.

kstater 04-13-2008 03:41 PM

He was still gunning for eagle there.

OnTheWarpath15 04-13-2008 03:42 PM

Tiger Woods, you are ridiculous.

Now don't blow the bird.

BWillie 04-13-2008 03:42 PM

Immellman just won. Nice putt.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-13-2008 03:42 PM

Immelman doesn't seem to be too concerned about it. Nice save.

hahah. failure for tiger

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-13-2008 03:45 PM

Tiger just doesn't have it this week.

OnTheWarpath15 04-13-2008 03:45 PM

Dumbass.

kstater 04-13-2008 03:45 PM

That's going to be tricky for Immleman.

Dangit Tiger, just pulled it.

That's what's amazing about him. He has a bad week and finishes in the top 5 at the Masters.

Tiger really needed that birdie. Immleman about to drop a shot(or 2).

OnTheWarpath15 04-13-2008 03:50 PM

Man, that blown putt by Tiger is even bigger now that Immelman is carving up 12.

kstater 04-13-2008 03:52 PM

Perdy putt by Snedeker.

And that's what people forget about Jack Nicklaus--second 19 times, third 9 times more in majors in addition to 18 wins.

OnTheWarpath15 04-13-2008 03:53 PM

Immelman leaves himself a knee-knocker for bogey.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-13-2008 03:55 PM

14 and 15 are still birdie holes. Tiger fans better hope for him to get both along with another on the last three to have a shot.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-13-2008 03:58 PM

Yeah, but Kostis doesn't tell the story of how Strange made a fucking 9 on thirteen earlier in the week in '85.

That was what cost him the tournament.

BWillie 04-13-2008 03:58 PM

HAHAHHAHA. Another miss for Tigger Todds

kstater 04-13-2008 03:58 PM

Tiger's done.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-13-2008 03:59 PM

Tiger with the Scott Hoch impersonation.

kstater 04-13-2008 04:02 PM

Tiger's only chance is to get to 6 somehow and hopes Immelman collapses.

kstater 04-13-2008 04:05 PM

Snedeker hit the exact same spot yesterday.

kstater 04-13-2008 04:08 PM

Barring a collapse, that should be it.

smittysbar 04-13-2008 04:12 PM

He makes this putt and it over

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-13-2008 04:18 PM

Maybe Immelman will go Tin Cup on 15, Tiger fans.

1981, Fort Washington Golf Club. Final round of the Tour Qualifying School. You tried to hit that same impossible cut three wood from a hilly lie. Put 5 in a row out of bounds, man. Til you finally pulled it off, and tapped it in for a crowd-pleasing 13, when a 12 would have gotten you on the tour. Now that was a defining moment.

And the definition was shit.

smittysbar 04-13-2008 04:47 PM

Immelman is going to make this much more interesting than it should be.

kstater 04-13-2008 05:11 PM

6 or better wins it.

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-13-2008 05:17 PM

Had Tiger shot 69 as I said....

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-13-2008 05:21 PM

That's a nice win. He could have had some mental problems develop at the end of the first 9 today. He pulled himself back and won.

Good jacket.

All in all, kind of a boring Masters. Oh well, the US Open is always great for entertainment, if you are into schadenfraude.

2112 04-13-2008 05:59 PM

I picked 18th in a pool at my local bar this year. I picked David Toms. :shake:

Two years ago picking 22nd I picked Zack Johnson, one year too early. :shake:

3 years ago was Davis Love III. :shake:

$400 at stake for the winner.

Here's the formula, bud:

Pick a guy who hits a high draw, is a good putter, and has been there more than once.

You make the picks on wed, so you don't even know who makes the cut yet.

It's not that easy when you're picking higher than 10th. most of the big names have already been taken. we draw numbers out of a hat, and then you pick your golfer when your number comes up.

Yeah, my boy Ogilvy shot a ridiculously high number today as well.

And my other pick, Adam Scott was hampered by some illness - guess maybe a flu bug. I never heard exactly what was up with him.

Yeah...

Again, draw up a list of 20 guys who are good putters and hit a high draw. You'll have a much better shot.

It doesn't take a lot of common sense to know what works at Augusta. And trust me, there are a lot of pros out there that are absolute dumbasses.

About 4:00 today, I picked Immelman ;)

For the record, never pick Sergio (bad putter), Toms (overrated), or Furyk (grinders don't do well there historically).

Never pick a guy who uses a belly putter.
Never pick a guy who isn't at least in the top 1/4 of driving distance (this won't work 1/5 years).
Don't pick a righty who hits a cut unless he is looooong off the tee.
Don't pick a guy over 40 (Jack Nicklaus was 20+ years ago).

If you draw a bad number next year, look at Andres Romero, Angel Cabrera, or Paul Casey, but if you want a real dark horse...

We do these pools for every major tournament, so I'll let you pick for me when the next one comes up. it's only 10 bucks with the chance to win $400, and I have never won the pool before. so I'll let you pick for me and I'll pay you in casino cash if we win. how's that?
