Do all people make up statistics to try to prove their points? Just wondering...

Hamas: Since when did Soriano have a good throwing arm. Hootie: Always. Hamas: Oh, he was a 2nd baseman once. Hootie: So? Most 2nd baseman have strong arms, this isn't high school baseball. Jewish dick licker: You're an idiot, me and Hamas are dating, I want to be cool and try to be a know-it-all too, I can throw a baseball, Hamas treats me like a real woman, I love him. |

Wow, Cubs came that close to messing up that easy pop fly.

Iz2 has been much better offensively this week. He still gargles balls, but he's been passable this week.

Look how stupid you are, Tony LaRussa.
Look how stupid you are. |

There are a few on there with weak arms, for sure, but I'd say 50% of them have played a lot of 3rd base as well as 2nd base, and some shortstop...
And 3rd baseman, by rule, are suppose to have the strongest arms of the three... Most of those 2nd baseman, like I said, played a whole bunch of shortstop in their careers. |
I am going to laugh when Edmonds hits a walk off...
fuck the Cardinals fans on here...I bet most of you live in the Kansas City area...fairweather fans. |

Lack of arm strength. If Shortstops are moved to third it's due to lack of mobility. Dumbass. |

Perhaps, I know this is a real tough concept, PERHAPS a guy like Scott Rolen comes along who possesses a STRONGER arm and they move the guy to 2nd base because 2nd base is an easy position to play if you were a SS or a 3rd baseman... Never once did I say 2nd base was tougher to play than SS or 3rd, because it is, by far, easier...easier in high school, in low A, AAA and the pros... All I said, and I'm right here, is, the VAST majority of MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL 2nd baseman have strong throwing arms. |
Throw nothing but a fastball to that one who sucks the penis. He'll never catch it.

Going to extras... Great game today, no matter who ends up winning.

You are speaking circa 1950... This is a new day and age...most every good power hitter/athlete that is drafted, if you pay attention to the draft, is a 3rd baseman or SS...or catcher...and then they get converted to other positions in the minors. So when Ryan Braun gets the call up, poor ol' 3rd baseman before him either moves to 2nd, to 1st, to the OF or to a new team...and then poor ol' Ryan Braun, who can hit anything, sucks in the field so he moves to the OF and makes way for the next big thing coming up from AA. |

Cards are 21w- 20L |
I wonder if Frazod went to the game.
He hasn't been on this forum today i don't believe. If you see a fight in the stands, it most likely could involve him. |

I said Middle infielders. The reason why they played shortstop before they were drafted is because they were the best athletes on the field. Pujols played short in high school. Hell, one of my college roommates tried to spike him to break up a double play and he just verticaled his ass while he slung it over to first. You value offense from you projected shortstops or second baseman to be roughly equal. It's not a corner infield, nor an outfield position. Because of that, the differentiating factor between second and short is arm strength, since they both need equal lateral quickness and speed, as well as glovework. |
Cubs are 7w- 5L in extra innings
Cards are 6w-9L |

DeRosa rocketed that over to first.

What are you talking about? I know the best athletes play short...the best athletes are the ones that become pros...****ing Jason Giambi was probably an amazing fielder back in grammar school. I'm saying, almost every MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL 2nd baseman has a good, strong throwing arm. That's my only argument. You've yet to successfully rebut it, I gave you a list of 2nd baseman, and you can't name one with a weak arm. You don't know shit. You didn't even know Soriano had a good arm in the OF... You are again, like usual, a pseudo intellect. I'd expect nothing less. |
That's now the third inning we've run ourselves out of.

What the **** Pujols???

Dear Albert,
Sit Down. |
Don't mess with football!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And also with 2 outs already why not take a chance, you wouldn't think the Cubs would be expecting it. |

Smarzdjzzaadfjdajldf2 is a stud...I really questioned his choice to play baseball over football when he was a sure fire 1st rounder in the NFL...
I know that, pro baseball players that stick will make a boat load more money than football players, but how'd that work out for Drew Henson and others? Baseball is much tougher to break into the pros...but he did get a nice signing bonus, I just figured we'd never hear about him again. |

after the Cubs sweep this series, I see the Cardinals finishing out with 85 wins, tops.
They are due for a collapse. |
I really like what I've seen of Samardzija. In a rivalry game to pitch scoreless baseball in a tie game in late innings is very impressive with his lack of big league experience. Definitely added more depth to the bullpen. Also was that supposed to be a hit and run or something? Just watching it on gameday and I was shocked to see Pujols stealing with the bat in Ludwicks hands.

Just read this from a blog, exactly what I'm saying:
"Following in the footsteps of the shortstop revolution of the late '90s, second base is a position increasingly populated by middle-of-the-lineup hitters. Most middle infielders are expected to supply consistent offense as well as solid defense, and second basemen are no longer just shortstops with weak arms." Hamas, wake up, it isn't 1950 anymore... |

STOP THROWING SO MANY ****ING SLIDERS
YOU ARE TERRIBLE AT THROWING SLIDERS JESUS CHRIST |
Hootie:
http://www.baseball-reference.com/bu...Second_baseman Maybe the most respected baseball site out there: The only fielding ability that is not really required for second basemen is a strong throwing arm. Because the second baseman's position is closer to first base than the shortstop's or third baseman's, he is not required to have as strong an arm as the other infielders. |
Quote:
The Cardinals are a surprise...that's for sure...but they aren't going to go anywhere...they will probably end up falling flat on their faces...you can only play above your ability for so long... Now the Cubs, talk about a well built team...if Harden stays healthy this may be the best team from 1 to 25 in the last decade. |

I know that. I never once said that. I said, AND I CONTINUE TO SAY, in today's game...as of 2008...the majority of 2nd baseman have strong throwing arms... Do they necessarily need to have a strong arm? No. Duh. But, AGAIN, like I said...with the recent trend of power hitting 2nd baseman...most of them possess strong arms...most of them were 3rd baseman or SS in high school/minor leagues. And I'm not going to list a bunch of guys and say they have strong arms...I don't pull shit out of my ass like you...you have no idea who had a good arm out of that list and who didn't...you just try and look way smarter than you really are...for god's sake you didn't even know Soriano had a good arm in the OF...and he is one of the best out there. |

Brian Anderson, Jesse Todd, Colby Rasmus. Jaime Garcia, Chris Perez. Clayton Mortenson, Jason Motte. All will contribute heavily to the major league club next year. This isn't football. Rebuilding means that your farm system is being set up to supplant the big leaguers. |
