Dick V is laughing his old ass off!!!!!
|
Clark is spending the money.....$70 million in unforseen stadium upgrades.....Pioli.....and now Shanny. Both of these guys got premium money to come the Chiefland. Lamar is turning over in his grave, RIP.

Petro getting play on ESPN News right now...

Mortensen says that things have moved fast in the last 24 hours. Negotiating.
|
Mort on SportsCenter: 2 sources say negotiations have picked up in the last 24 hours with Shanahan, and hoping to close the deal (didn't say when).
|
JFC, Mort implying Jack Harry is the source of the info.
|
Evidently Clark Hunt wants to do something more than just fill seats.

With Crennel as DC, and Gailey as OC. :hmmm: Maybe the Rat will come to be a QB Coach for Thiggy? ;) |

So does this mean that we can't use the term "rat-boy" anymore and that we now all have to defend the art of chop blocking?
|
Mort is the only person who has shown any indications of having a source in the Chiefs organization. I'll go with him for now.
|
Tony G is coming on ESPN.

Crennel as DC, Chan as OC with Shanahan returning to be just a coach with Pioli running the draft and free agency?
I'll take that. |
Gonzo coming up on SportsCenter. Will likely claim that the Rat is the greatest coach ever and that he'll have the team headed in the right direction. Next year likely to be greatest Chief team ever.

GET THE FUGG OUTTA HERE!

Tony G's gonna be on SC here in a little bit!

kevin Harlan reporting that Shannarat likes Pioli and told a friend that "the only person i would work for this year is Scott Pioli"
this was said BEFORE pioli left new england to work for KC |
Kevin Harlan:
"I talked to someone that spoke to Mike Shanahan before he went on vacation." Shanahan to that source: "The ONLY person I'd work for this early after being fired in Denver is Scott Pioli." |
Your move, Schefter.
|
maybe Shefter is taking the fall now putting up a smoke screen for a good inside source with the rat later on???
|
Quote:
Not worried about this being only his show. Chiefs: Look the **** out. |
This would be incredible! I said we'd be nuts no go after him and Scott was listening.
|
Harlan just left the air to take a phone call that "might be interesting" regarding this...

Per Slowik's agent. These fired assistants have to be looking for work, and it has something to do with compensation from Bowlen. Harlan not sure about the legalities. These guys need evidence they are looking for work to earn complete compensation from Bowlen, could they be using the Chiefs? Harlan doesn't think so. |
Huard on ESPN right now.

If not, no how, no way do I want him as a DC. |

The latest rumor is that Shanahan is building a new wing on his house that extends from Denver to Kansas City, so he can coach the Chiefs without having to move.

NOTHING said about what that position would be. |

Slowik just took a job with the Lions yesterday
|
what worries me is that Shefter IS supposed to be friends with Shannarat.

that dumbass Harlan comparing Carl Peterson/Shottenheimer with Pioli/Shannrat again.

ESPN changed from "negotiations" to "targeting".
Looks like Schefter's in the lead... |
Heard Chiefs wanted interview Haley but that ticket invoices are scheduled to go out next week and they wanted to have a coach before then. In fear that a lot of ticket holders wouldn't renew.

I guess the people on the Mange were wrong and I was wrong

One good thing about the Pioli Shanahan team up is we might finally get a little national coverage from the coastal-biased as hell sports media.
|
I doubt Mortenson will be wrong about this. He rarely is.
Personally, I like the move. |

Mortensen backed way off the "nearing deal" title. |

Mike Shanahan is going to be the next coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. It's going to be beautiful. |

Wow this thread is smoking. Its hard to freaking believe and I am not sure how I feel about this. I have always held Shannahan in such disdain.
Well hopefully with Pioli being the GM and Shanny concentrating on coaching football maybe we can finally make it back to the promised land in my lifetime. This is going to take some getting used to though. |
seriously I've hated the rat since he first came in to Denver. I find it very hard to have a guy who has played against the Chiefs for so long and roll in here like no hard feelings. I guess people hated Herm during his time here so I guess I'll choose the boat where all the haters will be. It'd be like Belichick leaving the Patriots for the Jets. Jets fans would start a riot.
|
sounds like Tony's still thinking trade... no surprise I guess.
