That sounds eerily familiar.

2001 NFL Draft: Pass on the potential franchise QB for an established vet
2005 NFL Draft: Pass on the potential franchise QB for 35 year old established vet
2009 NFL Draft: Pass on the potential franchise QB for semi-established vet.

So, who will Pioli pass over in 2013 when we are in prime position again?

Thats kind of what TEs are becoming these days. Its all about evolving with the game.

Uh dude, you said Favre was done, you watched him with the Jets etc etc, that they wouldn't be any better with him than Jackson all of that jazz.

I said most of that, not the Jackson part. Most of what I said had to do with Favre breaking down late into the season anyway. When Favre stick to checking down as he didn early in the seaosn with the Jets, he is solid.

Psyko Tek 10-05-2009 07:17 PM

god I hate turf

Sweet Daddy Hate 10-05-2009 07:17 PM

Astroturf is so awesome; I'm glad the league hasn't banned it.

Sure-Oz 10-05-2009 07:18 PM

Hideous pass favrauh

Mecca 10-05-2009 07:18 PM

No one plays on "astroturf" anymore and hell most of the outdoor stadiums have switched to field turf by now.

KCrockaholic 10-05-2009 07:19 PM

Kluwe sucks

WildTurkey 10-05-2009 07:19 PM

I'm looking forward to this game going down to the wire and Favre throwing a game costing INT... that would be too ****ing funny

Dylan 10-05-2009 07:19 PM

Hopefully someone in the 5th or 6th round.

Why does Ted Thompson give a shit if Favre plays against him? He got rid of him, got a draft pick, saved cap dollars, and started a better, younger quarterback.

My alma mater put in field turf and tore it out after a year because the ****heads who installed it did such a piss poor job that the field looked like it had moguls.

I'd rather have turf than the ****ing abortion of a grass field that NE*, Pitt, and KC have had for years that gets so torn up that it affects the outcome of the game.

*Yes, I know NE changed their surface.

The field doesn't care who you are when you make your cut. Everyone knows what cleats to wear before the game.

Mecca 10-05-2009 07:27 PM

So he throws a pick instead.

chiefs1111 10-05-2009 07:27 PM

is that why guys switch cleats during the game sometimes?

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-05-2009 07:27 PM

That obviates the need for a challenge. Poor decision by Rodgers, and a great play on the ball by Winfield.

Great field. Especially in Municipal stadium for baseball. Then he did pretty well with the field after we acquired Joe and went to real grass.

Then he retired and his son took over until he became a junkie.

Mecca 10-05-2009 07:29 PM

Having a field so bad it leads to guys getting injured is not a "home field advantage" it's a health hazard and bad management.

Wow. Bummer.

KCrockaholic 10-05-2009 07:29 PM

And thats why Winfield is the best 5'9 corner in the league.

Yes, and that only happens to road teams.

Grass fields are fine. Shitty grass fields are an embarrassment. The game should be decided by the players on the field, not by officials, and not by someone slipping on a piece of bermuda that doesn't have a deep enough root structure.

chiefs1111 10-05-2009 07:30 PM

I don't know if teams can do it now but they used to screw with their field to give their team an advantage. I have no problem with that, baseball teams do it all the time.

If I could get away with it if a team that was alot faster than my team I would water the field until it was a mud pit just to offset the advantage.

No, baseball teams did it in the 1950's. Gone are the days of grounds crews putting a hump halfway down the line so that the leadoff hitter can get bunt base hits.

The Patriots took a lot of shit for it before they played the Colts in the playoffs about 5 years ago because they left the field uncovered before the game and it snowed balls all week.
