The Bears are making these moves because there is no other way they can improve their team this year. Even then, they have no WRs, their secondary has fallen apart, and their OL is shit.

They could very easily go 5-11 next year.

F U Houston. Walter needs to come to KC First!

The Texans have reportedly been working "real hard" to keep free agent WR Kevin Walter.
GM Rick Smith has been talking to Walter's agent since last week. Though he's coming off a disappointing season in Houston, the reported interest in Walter has the Texans' second-guessing their decision to let him go free. We'll call it the "Darren Sproles effect.

I sure hope he at least has a chance to come to KC

Free agent FS Antrel Rolle is reportedly taking a physical with the Giants as of Friday afternoon.
A physical usually means a deal is all but locked up, though beat writer Ralph Vacchiano cautions that the same source says the Dolphins and Cardinals aren't out of the race if they increase their offer. You think Rolle's agent is the source?

Pioli is a shitty GM until proven otherwise. The next time he accomplishes anything, it will be his first.

Kevin Walter isn't going to look as good as he has in a system that doesn't include Andre Johnson. ie......Cincinatti.

Tully had 10 sacks last year for a scheme that doesnt call for him to rush the passer much.

He isnt terrible.

I wouldnt have minded if we had signed him.

Antrell Rolle (but you still don't pass on Berry) and use him as a hybrid CB/S
Ryan Clark (play him at SS)
Dwan Edwards (as a rotational guy to spell Jackson's bitch ass).

I badly want Ryan Clark. The guy is a beast. He hits like no other.

But we will have to shut him down every single year in the Broncos game in Denver.

We can use both. Berry is not strictly a FS. He can play CB, NB or really anything. Guys like that have extreme value.

In a perfect world we can, but I don't think anyone is viewing Berry as a SS.

Anyway, Rolle is taking a physical in New York. He's going to be a Giant.

BossChief 03-05-2010 03:24 PM

I have always been a Rolle fan.

I would love to have him on our team.

I love the thought of drafting Berry, but:

Yeah. NY has a huge need there w/ Phillips' injury.

This is kind of what I think, although I would love to have Berry.

Even if it was Rolle and Okung vs. Berry, would people really rather have Berry?

Rolle and Berry are not mutually exclusive properties (not that it really matters, b/c Rolle isn't coming here now).

dirk digler 03-05-2010 03:53 PM

Rams sign AJ Feeley to a 2 year deal worth $6 million. That is good news for us considering they will probably take Bradford now.

The Bad Guy 03-05-2010 03:58 PM

Phillips is a strong safety. Signing Rolle has nothing to do with Phillips injury.

I don't want to sound like a true fan but paying a decent safety and a good linebacker contracts worth 80 million just doesn't sound like a good idea for a team that's rebuilding.
