You should learn about the business model of sports and ticket sales before you bitch. |

The business model you described is understood and expected in a market like New York or Boston where tickets are at a premium. Not in a market where over half of the stadium is empty after season tickets are accounted for. And FTR, I know of at least one pro team that doesn't use that strategy - and they sold out 30+ of 41 home dates last year while missing the playoffs. I'm sure their customer service and willingness to put the fan first had nothing to do with it. |

But what does that have to do with what we're talking about - setting better seats aside for JC residents? The Chiefs could have easily done the right thing and put our group of 20 in the 4th and 5th row of any section in that price range. And there would still be section after section with seats in row 3 and back available for JC residents. This game isn't going to come 20 seats from selling out on Thursday. |

According to the tax that JC residents passed by themselves mind you they get first crack at all tickets and don't have to pay the parking surcharge.

From 2006 back to the Marty era, they sold over 70k season tickets, and all that was left to JC residents was the shittiest seats. As someone who has been begged year after year to renew my season tickets, I can only go by what I've been told by the reps I've talked to - who claim this never was the case before this offseason. Season ticket holders always had the opportunity at the best seats, followed by groups if applicable. The ST base has shrunk, which would open more seating to groups based on the past was of doing things. The rep I spoke with yesterday basically said that last year, had there been 20 seats available together in lower rows, they would have offered them. They've been instructed not to do so this year. Had they been upfront with Nzoner at the time of the sale, I'd be OK with it. But to be told that rows 11 and 12 are the best they can do, when it obviously isn't, is pretty shady - especially considering they made us buy tickets to a second game to even get those seats. Adding to the insult is the shitty CS Nzoner got to begin with. 3-4 days to return a phone call, when you're desperate as an organization to sell tickets? They better rape the fan for all they can for MNF, because it's back to 30-35k per game after that. |

The goalposts are getting moved here. This isn't about JC residents getting first crack at any REMAINING seats. It's about the Chiefs holding back seats in better locations for JC residents and the general public instead of offering seats first come, first served. |

The basic point here is that Nzoner was forced to buy tickets to another game. They should allow him to alter that order now that this new information is out there. This is a huge screwjob to his group.
|
I know when I bought my tix the sales rep gave me a link to where I can order them off the Chiefs site. It also had a bunch of corporations listed so my guess is most of the tickets will be bought by corporations and the scalpers will buy the rest.

i can also see that they would hold back better seats for the jc res with the renovations being done and all..... and i wasnt the only one who misunderstood WHY your were mad. but ill ask again could a st holder get his seats upgraded after paying for them???? Posted via Mobile Device |

Edit: ok, I didn't catch the two pack ticket deal in the article, I was only concerned about the parking situation. That does suck. |

I know that in the past, you could as long as it was prior to the tickets being printed. In my 5 years as a STH, I moved seats twice over the summer. One year I just happened to call them and ask, and I moved 4 rows closer, and the following year I was able to switch back to my preferred end of the stadium in late June, IIRC. |

The problem is getting them to return his call promptly. Once Thursday hits, it all becomes irrelevant. |

Yeah, thats true. They treated him like a second class citizen there. |
So what do you think the odds are that I could actually get like 3-4 tickets if I try to on Friday? Will they all be snagged already?

An hour in, and the Jackson County residents are really gobbling up tickets.
Sarcasm, folks. The same tickets I spoke of earlier are still available per both KCChiefs.com and the rep I just got off the phone with. When asked if the ticket office has been busy this morning, he casually danced around the subject. Whoops. Need 8 seats together? In the lower level? How's section 132, Row 16 sound? I'm not kidding. |
Someone needs to send the FO a memo informing them that it's not 1995 anymore.

Step one lower parking for both games...knowing tailgaters want to get in early. Step two make Jackson County feel the love. Step three make it look as if there is a run on tickets, so you can sell more season tickets. |

A little info from the more informed would be greatly appreciated. At 1:00pm today when the packets open up to the general public, is it better to do the purchase online or call. I'm just trying to get a feel.
|
Quote:
I've learned that the online ticketing rarely offers you the best seat. |
I just called and they're only doing the 2-pack thing online. Ended up with 4 seats in section 303, row 30 on the aisle for the Chiefs game.
|
What a sham!
You can't just buy the 2-pack parking without purchasing additional game tickets. I'm a Chiefs season ticket holder, and bought quality tickets the Royals game really early hoping for a time change. It did, great...but I'll have to buy parking at Royals gate, then exit, re-enter and pay Chiefs parking! (I spoke to the ticket agents). I'm handicapped and allowed to park up close anyway, so I just pay Chiefs parking at the gate. They told me I'd still be allowed to park up front, but I'd have to exit after Royals game and re-enter and work my way back up to the front. |

and then total for two of the parking passes was $56. the additional fees are fairly reasonable IMO. |
Yes, it was the advertised $68

I just bought 2 and a parking pass. I bought decent royals tickets and Upper Red Reserve Sec 303 Chiefs tickets.

did you fuggers buy them all?

"Best available" right now in lower level is Section 106 row 28 seats 15&16. "Best available" in upper level is Section 303, row 33 seats 13&14.
At least that's what just came up.....damn I'm bored today. Is it 4:00 yet? |
appreciate it truebigdog. whats the payment options?
|
Quote:
|
normal ticketmaster....pay with credit card (I guess that's what you're asking). Bills your credit card when you order them. Regular mail delivery at no additional cost.

I hate ordering on-line because I don't seem to agre with their version of "best available". Upper level on the 40 is 100x better than lower level in the corner. |
I was able to find a pair for section 344. I wonder why it was giving me corner seats before. oh well, I don't care, I've got seats anyway.

I got mine in section 322. Way high though. I suppose that is pretty good for having waited so long. I was on Ticketmaster right at 10:00 CDT yesterday though chomping at the bit. |
I just got my tickets in the mail a few days ago. Section 108
