It seems Ohio State always rolls through the Big Ten, then gets thumped in their bowl game.

That game was mind-boggling. 17-14 late?

Michigan up early on Indiana, shoelace already doing his thing. He'll need to, with our _efense. Wish I was home to watch it on ESPNU.

It was a 3 point game in Ann Arbor last year and Michigan's defense is even worse now than it was then. Not sure what you were expecting this time around.

Hey... Greg Robinson's defense giving up 21 points in the 1st half against Indiana.

tk13 10-02-2010 03:03 PM

Herbstreit called the Michigan game so far. I haven't seen them play, but he said Indiana's offense is a little more explosive than people expect... and with Michigan's horrible defense, they'd be able keep it close.

Robinson is on pace for 300 yards passing and 300 yards rushing, though. Not too bad.

Yeah it was really close, without pryor were not a top 20 team. We struggled, then when TP came back JT had the reins way too tight.

Zaiko 10-02-2010 03:17 PM

You know you have a weakass schedule when home vs Utah State is one of your 3 key remaining games....

I've been trying to tell people since the day Michigan entered the polls that it's a mirage. They won't fall apart like last year (fingers crossed), but they don't have the defense to make any game safe. They do have the offense to make every game interesting, though.

Rodriguez still needs another class of recruits on defense, unfortunately. Lloyd Carr didn't leave him shit on that side of the ball. Why on earth the guy hired Greg ****ing Robinson, though, I will never know. That's all on him.

keg in kc 10-02-2010 03:25 PM

FYI, Michigan goes 3-deep at QB including a freshman who may be better than Robinson long term. That offense can still roll without him, although it's obviously better with him. That kind of speed is such a weapon...

keg in kc 10-02-2010 03:26 PM

Looks like the Wolverines have already scored, under a minute into the 3rd quarter. 28-21.

Zaiko 10-02-2010 03:27 PM

It's not like Michigan is ranked top-10. Who would you put above them? Here are the "others receiving votes" from last week:

Florida State 84, North Carolina State 80, West Virginia 45, Air Force 22, Northwestern 21, Kansas State 17, Clemson 16, Houston 10, Mississippi State 7, Texas Tech 5, Virginia Tech 2, UCLA 1

Zaiko 10-02-2010 03:28 PM

FSU and NC State are probably the only ones I'd consider.

How is Vtech still getting votes?

Valid point, although we haven't played anybody. Notre Dame is nothing.

Michigan's a team that could win 8 or 9 games, though, so the ranking isn't completely unfounded in that sense. But they're going to lose a head-scratcher or two because of that defense. Today maybe.

I just think it's hard to be one of the top 25 teams in the country when you have one of the bottom 25 defenses...

DaKCMan AP 10-02-2010 03:37 PM

Now every time Texas gets a big gain the ref pulls out a flag.

keg in kc 10-02-2010 03:40 PM

Touchdown indiana according to the gamecast. About to be tied at 28.

Stats for this game are ridiculous...

keg in kc 10-02-2010 03:42 PM

Michigan has just 10 first downs and 27 total plays. 404 yards of offense, 222 passing, 182 rushing, 11:33 TOP and 1 turnover (that would be robinson fumbling inside the 5 I think, would have made the game 21-7).

Indiana has 23 first downs on 62 plays, 324 yards passing, 81 rushing, and have had the ball for 26:32. Also one turnover.

Sweet jesus, 62 plays and it's midway through the 3rd quarter. Fifteen minute advantage in ToP.

keg in kc 10-02-2010 03:45 PM

And Michigan scores in two plays. LMAO

This game must be something to watch.

I know. They haven't done much to earn that #3 ranking besides generating some hype before the season started.. Granted, they have won so far, but against who?

A Vtech team that lost to James Madison?

They beat Oregon State on the blue turf, but if that's your best victory then so what?

Not only did James Madison beat VT, they did it AT VT by a larger margin. LMAO

DaKCMan AP 10-02-2010 04:01 PM

I think they flagged the other dude about 10 yds up from the foul who like 4coaches were holding back.

tk13 10-02-2010 04:03 PM

Boise's best win might end up being Oregon State.

Actually, depending on how it plays out... it might be going on the road to Nevada if they can win there, with the way Nevada's been playing. I'm not sure that's a gimme.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nevada wins that game. They put the wood to a Cal team that dominated their first two opponents and almost won at Arizona last weekend. But the good thing for Boise is that at least gives them one more tough game on their schedule.
